When I first saw these new Screme Egg Pots of Joy I wasn't going to bother trying them...I assumed they'd just be sugar bombs, considering how sweet an actual Screme Egg is. But in the name of Snacks Research I have relented (Asda's offer of £1 a pack may have had something to do with it!) These are limited edition for the Halloween period, and are described as "smooth and creamy dessert made with melted Cadbury milk chocolate with a fondant layer". They're not vegetarian friendly unfortunately, but they are gluten free. There's 164 calories per pot, 7.6g fat, 21.4g carbohydrates and 2.4g protein. Opening the lid of one, I found the dessert had spoldged into one side of the pot. Taking a spoonful, there was a layer of pale green fondant above a white dessert layer. Nakd (aka Natural Balance Foods) have launched a new range of "premium, grown up snacks" called Posh Bits. These replace the Nakd Bits range that have been out for a while now, to the disappointment of many fans I'm sure. Like all Nakd products, these are a mixture of raw fruit and nuts "smooshed together", and are raw, vegan, dairy free and gluten free. I'd heard bad things about these new Cadbury Dinky Deckers from other reviewers, but curiosity got the better of me...could they really be that bad? Turns out that yes, they can, at least compared to the regular Double Decker bar. These are part of Mondelez/Cadbury's "shrink everything except the bathroom sink" strategy of making money from customers, and they're doing a good job of it...they now make miniature versions of most of their products, from Cadbury Caramel Nibbles, to Bitsa Wispa, to Twirl Bites...there's even Cadbury Fudge Minis now! Those other products stand up fine when made into minis but how does Double Decker fare? Not very well, it turns out! Shrunk down into miniature form, the ratios are all wrong, as noted by One Treat . The nougat and crunchy cereal sections have been flipped around, making the bites too chewy and without the crispy crunchy texture that should be more prominent. So there's not one, not two, but three new popcorn flavours on shelves at the moment from Butterkist, and as well as that there's Pop Works & Company trying to muscle in on their territory...I can't keep up with it all! Whilst perusing Morrisons chilled "Free From" range recently, I spotted something new and rather exciting...well, for anyone avoiding dairy or who is vegan, anyway. Coconut Milk rice pudding! Yes, I kid you not...rice pudding has now gone coco-nuts! These are not only dairy free, but gluten free, nut free, soya free....and generally free from all allergens! The main ingredient is coconut cream, followed by sugar, rice, water, rice flour, potato starch, locust bean gum, salt and vanilla. They're also Vegan Society  approved. I can't remember exactly how much I paid for them, but it was over the £2 mark. I couldn't wait to get home to try these...so it's just as well I had my trusty spoon on hand with me to tuck in straightaway! There seems to be a war going on in the snacks world at the moment...who can shrink their products into miniature size the fastest?! Maybe it's a stealth tactic...to get you to part with your money of course.  Cadbury launched Dinky Deckers - bite size versions of Double Decker - only recently, but now they've gone a step further and chopped up their fudge bars to make them mini too...at first I thought this actually was a bag of Dinky Deckers since the packaging has a similar orange and purple colour scheme. These cost £1 in Tesco Express, and contain 120g of mini Cadbury Fudge pieces, which are suitable for vegetarians, but it's not stated if they are manufactured near gluten or nuts. Opening the bag, they had the typical milky comforting aroma usually associated with Cadbury fudge... They tasted as expected; very sweet, with the chocolate tasting milky but not particularly chocolatey. Cadbury's chocolate quality really has gone downhill
