Last year Lucozade brought out some new Zero Sugar varieties, which included Lucozade Zero Pink Lemonade and Lucozade Zero Orange , but oddly no Original variety. I don't know what took them so long, but at last it's here! Currently available from Morrisons and The Co Op in small and large bottles, and probably other supermarkets soon too. I bought a small bottle for £1.25 in Morrisons. I chilled it in the freezer, but left it in a bit too long so ended up with some Lucozade ice. Oops! Luckily, the ice didn't spoil it at all - in fact it was the perfect chilled temperature to drink. It tastes pretty much like regular Lucozade, which is quite impressive considering sugar free versions of drinks often taste full of chemicals in comparison. It's actually more refreshing and lighter than regular Lucozade, whilst retaining that lovely citrusy edge that makes Lucozade so distinctive. Impressive! Following on from my review of the new Lucozade Zero Pink Lemonade yesterday, today we have Lucozade Zero Orange. I never thought I'd be so interested in these new zero calorie drinks from Lucozade, after all Lucozade is a high sugar energy drink but the Pink Lemonade surprised me in being so nice that I had to give this one a try too! I haven't had a regular orange Lucozade for years now despite loving them as a child, so how does this sugar free version stack up? Well, it tastes surprisingly similar to regular orange Luzozade to be honest, despite the lack of glucose. Maybe I'm just used to lower sugar food and drinks now but the flavour was spot on, it has that intense zingy orange flavour and somehow feels "heavier" than a regular orangey fizzy drink. It contains orange juice concentrate as well as artificial sweeteners, and has 3.8 calories per 100ml which means it's allowed to be labelled as calorie free (hey, I don't make the rules!) Over...

Apparently this is the year that sugar-free drinks become trendy...who would have guessed that cutting out sugar could become a trend?! Of course, I've been trying to cut back on it for ages now, and according to surveys lots of Brits want more reduced sugar products, so Lucozade have come to the rescue with this new Lucozade Zero. It isn't strictly "sugar free" as it contains naturally occuring fruit sugars, but there's no extra added and it isn't loaded with glucose syrup like regular ol' Lucozade. So what makes it Lucozade then, since the selling point of Lucozade is glucose? To be honest, I'm not sure and I don't really care...this is a mighty refreshing drink! I haven't had pink lemonade in ages as I usually avoid sweetened fizzy drinks, but this doesn't taste like any pink lemonade I've had before, it's actually nicer. It has a lovely refreshing fruity flavour, it's sweet enough but not too sweet. The sweetnes...

After finding the new limited edition  Lucozade Melonade rather disappointing I was hesitant to try this Strawberry version when I saw it in a newsagents recently. I thought I'd give it a go though in the hope I would like it more, and luckily I did! It had a pleasant fruity strawberry flavour that wasn't too sweet and was rather refreshing. It quite surprised me actually; it's far nicer than the Melonade variety and the flavour actually works. That said, I still think Lucozade should just have one flavour - the original. To me Lucozade is Lucozade and that's the way it should stay - adding flavours makes it a completely different drink! Overall though despite my moaning, I do think this is a pleasant Lucozade flavour and fans of fruity Lucozade varieties should definitely check it out! Price: 95p RATING: 7 out of 10.

In recent months I've noticed that Lucozade now comes in a dizzying array of different flavours. I'm not sure what's behind this trend, because Lucozade never really struck me as a drink suited to different flavours. The original Lucozade has it's own distinctive, unique taste, which surely gets lost when you start adding berry or apple flavourings to it? So yes, call me old fashioned but to me proper Lucozade has just one flavour, although the orange version is a nice one-off. Nowadays though there's blackcurrant, cherry, apple, tropical, lemon, berry...and now this limited edition "Melonade" variety too. I found this in a local newsagent but it's also available at Asda in large bottles, plus I've spotted it in WH Smiths. It's described as "Sparkling melon and lime flavour glucose drink with tropical fruit juices" and contains caffeine. It's fizzy pop that tastes of melon, basically. It has that full-on "glucose...

I've had a lot of snacks reviews building up for a while now - things that get left by the wayside as newer, more interesting snacks get released. In light of Grocery Gem's fantastic Random Reviews posts I thought I'd do something similar, so here's introducing Kev's Pick & Mix: an assortment of mini snacks and drinks reviews!
