Marks & Spencer Italian Dark Gianduja Bar with Whole Hazelnuts

Image
I've been itching to try this Dark Chocolate Italian Gianduja bar since it appeared in the new M&S Chocolate range recently. As much as I loved the Swiss Blond Chocolate Bar from the range, I do prefer to avoid dairy so this dairy free, vegan bar sounded right up my street. It also reminded me of the lovely (but not so fortunately named) Vego Hazelnut Bar  I once tried which was LOVELY, so I had high hopes! Described simply as a "Gianduja dark chocolate bar with whole hazelnuts" this costs £1.50 and contains 65g per pack. Although it's dairy free, don't eat it if you're super lactose sensitive as it's made in a factory that uses milk ingredients. Like the Vego Bar , it comes in two thick chunks with an eerily identical symbol that I think is supposed to be cocoa pods? I wonder if this is made by the same company.. On the underside of the bar the whole hazelnuts looked very plentiful indeed - I do love chocolate bars that don't skimp on th...

Marks & Spencer Gluten Free Hazelnut & Praline Cakes

Image
I'm always on the lookout for new gluten free treats, and luckily M&S have just launched a boatload...such as Made Without Wheat Cheesecake , Trifle , Apple Pie , Rhubarb Crumble and more, and as it's currently Coeliac Awareness week (click here for a list of the 11 Best Gluten Free Foods from The Independent), I thought this would be the perfect time to review some of them! Today's treats are these Made Without Wheat Chocolate Hazelnut & Praline cakes. For £3.50 you get two mini chocolate cakes, with a fudgey praline ganache, topped with chopped hazelnuts and caramel, and a salted caramel centre. Opening the pack I have to say the cakes looked lovely, very presentable and they had a welcoming chocolatey aroma. I cut one in half, expecting the salted caramel centre to ooze out, but alas it wasn't to be. I was a bit surprised really! Still I didn't let that stop me from promptly taking a bite... The cake is lovely and moist, and very cho...

Guylian Artisanal Belgian Chocolates (Valentine's Box)

Image
Recently Guylian offered to send me a box of chocolates...not for me, for my Valentine of course...so I couldn't really refuse that! They arrived promptly by courier, and as soon as I gave them to my Valentine (before Valentine's Day of course...oh it's a tough job being a snacks reviewer!), before I knew it half the box had vanished. I think that's testament to just how tasty they are! They're "hazelnut praline filled chocolate hearts", and of course very similar to the Seashells Guylian are most well-known for. Rich Belgian chocolate, creamy hazelnut praline...what more could you want? Overall, if you're stuck for a Valentines gift this weekend you can't go far wrong with these Guylian chocolates. They're far nicer than Milk Tray or Dairy Box so do the right thing and go for these instead! You may be rewarded for it later... ;) 8.5 out of 10
