Marks & Spencer Percy Pumpkins Review

Image
So All Hallows Eve, or Halloween is nearly upon us...what better way to celebrate than with a Percy Pig review? Not just any Percy Pig of course, but Percy Pig with a spooky makeover! Yep, the "soft gums made with real fruit juice" are now pretty terrifying - the famous pig has been transformed into a bizarre pig-pumpkin hybrid! There's three colours: orange, pink and green. The green ones taste of apple whilst the others are orange and strawberry. As you can see all three are pretty scary - certainly not pigs you'd like to meet on a dark night! Luckily that's where the "tricks" end...the "treat" is in the taste - they are as fruity, juicy and downright delicious as you'd expect from Percy Pigs. The addition of the apple flavoured ones makes for a very welcome change and I enjoyed them a lot. The strawberry ones are classic pink Percy Pigs whilst the orange are very fruity. If you need some special sweets for Haloween this year, th...

Marks & Spencer Witches Fingers Biscuits

Image
A big thanks to Marks and Spencer Food PR for today's review; they're doing a pretty impressive range of Halloween treats to get your claws into this year (even a a Halloween edition of Percy Pig !), and kindly sent me these Witches Fingers biscuits. They've been around a few years now I think, and are basically tasty biscuit fingers made with golden syrup, with fondant icing fingernails. They may be simple, but they definitely look ghastly! Very fitting for any Halloween party. As we all know looks can of course be deceiving and thankfully they tasted delicious. The crunchy biscuit has a nice golden buttery flavour, owing to the golden syrup and real butter used in the recipe. The fondant icing finishes it off nicely with a little sweet vanilla flavour. It might seem a bit weird biting off fingernails and breaking fingers, but hey ho it's Halloween so such weirdness is OK! Overall, bravo M&S these are a fantastic product for Halloween and a lot of fun inde...

Nestle Smarties Scaries - Halloween Edition

Image
Today's review is a quick one as there's not a lot to say about this new Smarties Scaries Halloween Edition. It seems Nestle are doing a lot of limited edition Smarties now, following from the success of the Unicorn Edition and Orange Limited Edition ...I'm guessing a Christmas version will be next! I received these from @gbgifts , a new company selling snacks boxes with a variety of fantastic treats, from old classics to new limited editions. To a Skittles gift box please check out my Instagram page - we are doing a joint competition this week! These Smarties are simply described as "Milk chocolate in a crisp sugar shell" and are basically brown-coloured milk chocolate Smarties and orange-coloured orange flavour milk chocolate Smarties. Which is pretty good because Orange Smarties are always a bit more special than regular ones (if you like orangey chocolate of course!). There's not much to say about them other than they taste as sugary and swee...

Creighton's Chocolaterie Pumpkin Spice Latte Bar

Image
Pumpkin Spice Latte season is upon us and Halloween is but a week away, so it's only fitting that I review the only chocolate bar I know of (at least in the UK) to combine chocolate with the popular spicy flavouring this week. It took me a while to decide on whether or not to get this bar; after glancing at the ingredients I saw that it doesn't contain real pumpkin, but this is because it's not possible to add actual pumpkin to chocolate, Creighton's informed me on Instagram recently. So how do the other pumpkin spice latte elements work with white chocolate? By chance I spotted the last few bars of this limited edition in Fenwicks at the weekend and decided it was now or never: I had to snap one up! For £3.99 you get 100g of "spiced pumpkin flavour white chocolate with coffee". I couldnt be bothered waiting to get home to try this bar, so I did what I often do - ate it whilst shopping! Opening the paper wrapper it had a nice creamy and spicy aroma,...

Cadbury Ghooost Egg with white goo: Cadbury's have killed off Screme Eggs and left Ghooost Eggs in their place (check out my review). I'm not sure why...half the fun of a Screme Egg was the green yolk! Spotted in Boots. Cadbury Screme Egg Pots of Joy with green Goooo: Despite the lack of actual Screme Eggs this year, there's these limited edition Screme Egg Pots of Joy for fans of the green stuff.
