Marks & Spencer Swiss Blond Chocolate Review

Image
With two new Blond chocolates to choose from in shops I feel we are being spoilt here in the UK. There's the Nestle Les Recettes De l'Atelier Blonde with Whole Roasted Almonds & Hazelnuts  available from Sainsbury's (currently on offer for £3 - still too pricey for me!) and this more affordable, and probably better quality Marks & Spencer Swiss Blond Chocolate that costs £1.50 for 100g. Described as "A unique recipe with aromas of caramel, shortbread and fresh toasted notes - which stands it apart from milk and white chocolate" this sounded very tempting indeed. It's basically a white chocolate made with caramelised sugar to give it the "Blond" effect. Now the first thing that springs to mind when trying this was always going to be Caramac - because it's a bar that many of us in the UK grew up on and has been available forever. It's always had a special place in my heart, despite the poor quality and use of cheap ingredients ov...

New M&S Blond Chocolate, Vegan Gianduja Bars & More! (Spotted In Shops)

Image
Another Spotted In Shops, and today it's the turn of M&S with some of their interesting new chocolates - first up one that will no doubt excite many, it's their new Blond Swiss Chocolate! It seems that 2018 is the year of blond chocolates, what with Nestle also selling their L'Atelier Blonde Hazelnuts & Almonds bar at Sainsbury's...I wonder how long until Cadbury's follow suit? (they recently launched a  blonde chocolate called Cadbury's Caramilk in New Zealand and it looks amazing!). This M&S variety is made with caramelised sugar, cocoa butter, milk and dried whey...see the ingredients list above. Do want! M&S are also doing some new filled bars such as this  White Chocolate Cappuccino , with a creamy coffee ganache filling. Plus there's  Milk Chocolate Stracciatella , with a creamy filling and dark chocolate pieces: And this  Italian White Chocolate with Whole Pistachios ... And Italian Milk Chocolate with Whole Almonds :...

Toblerone Milk Chocolate Review: new shape change!

Image
Today's review isn't for a new product, although it may as well be...not content with making Dairy Milk's blocks curved and altering the recipe, Mondelez have had the audacity to alter Toblerone's 150g Milk Chocolate bars. On the plus side they don't appear to have changed the actual recipe, but what they have changed is... The blocks! I was very surprised when I bought this bar in Tesco recently, I don't often buy Toblerone but on this occasion I fancied a change. I'd heard the rumours that Mondelez were reducing the size, but I never thought they'd do it in such a ridiculous way. I mean just look at the distance between those blocks! It hardly looks like the same bar any more. The base layer of chocolate is of course much thinner and the wider gaps are to give the illusion that the bar is still the same width. But did they really think no one would notice should a blatant design change?! What's worse is that it doesn't just ch...

Toblerone White Chocolate Bar Review

Image
My recent experience trying the Crispy Coconut Toblerone made me realize something...I'm yet to review the classic, delicious white chocolate Toblerone! So here it is, the review you've all been waiting for... I found this 100g bar for around 69p in B&M bargains, it's one of the few places to stock the white chocolate variety. You can get them around Christmas time from most supermarkets but the rest of the year it's impossible to get one. It's by far one of the nicest Toblerones around, so why it's not more widely available is a mystery to me... This comprises of Swiss white chocolate in the classic triangular Toblerone blocks, with honey and almond nougat pieces mixed in. I do love the design of Toblerone bars...they always feel so much more special than any regular chocolate bar, and it's so satisfying breaking off the triangular chunks to nibble on. The white chocolate is super sweet and milky, made even sweeter by the honey and nou...

Toblerone Crispy Coconut (Duty Free) Review

Image
So recently I just happened to be at the airport, and usually I don't expect to see much of interest at duty free, but for once my eyes met with something of pure beauty: Coconut Toblerone. It was love at first sight! This is one of the snacks I've dreamed of trying ever since I heard of its existence, since I love anything and everything coconutty. Not only did they have Crispy Coconut, but also a Salted Almond Toblerone . As much as I like almonds though, I forefeighted it for this beauty instead... Unfortunately my pics are poor quality as I got home late and didn't have much Toblerone left by that time, and I wasn't about to save any for another day...no, it was all going into my mouth, cavities be damned!  This is one of the best Toblerones I've ever tasted it has to be said. It's super sweet, naturally, but the coconut makes it so extra crunchy and moreish that it's hard to stop eating. The coconut is toasted, possibly in some kind of sug...
