Freaks of Nature Cherry Bakewell Pudding Review

Image
I was recently sent some of the new Freaks of Nature Cherry Bakewell puds to review by the creators - thanks so much guys, it's really appreciated! Freaks of Nature make vegan and gluten free desserts that are available from Waitrose and Ocado, without the use of allergens like soya, eggs, dairy etc, however they do contain nuts. These cost £2 and are apparently the worlds first free from and vegan cherry bakewell hot pudding. They consist of light almond frangipane sponge on top of a layer of sweet cherry sauce, and flaxseeds are used in place of egg as a binder. The desserts come in reusable glass ramekins, similar to GU puds, and contain 100g of dessert per pot. They can be heated in the oven or microwaved for a fast dessert. I loved these! The almond sponge is nice and light with a good nutty flavour, and the sprinkling of almond slivers adds some crunch. The cherry sauce underneath was a lovely surprise - it's sweet and flavoursome and really captures the essence ...

Retrocorn Cola Cube & Cherry Pips Popcorn

Image
A big thanks to Retrocorn for sending me a variety of new popcorn flavours from their range to review recently. Their popcorn is "popped in Great Britain with traditional British sweets", with classic retro flavours such as Sherbet Lemon, Cola Cubes etc added to it. The popcorn is gluten free and suitable for vegans, and contains 85 calories per half a bag. I do like the bag design - it's colourful and funky whilst also showing off its British credentials. Nice! I was sent a fair few flavours to try but today I'll focus on the Cherry Pips and Cola Cube varieties - both quite novel and different, and not flavours you'd usually see mixed with popcorn! The Cherry Pips flavour is of course combined with crushed Cherry sweets, making for an interesting sweet and sour combination. They have a purple colour and I like that they have been properly incorporated with the popcorn rather than just using a flavoured powder coating. The popcorn tastes great; it...

Co Op Rainbow Unicones & Cherry Bakewell Ice Cream! (Spotted In Shops)

Image
Today's Spotted In Shops post is a bit late, but a heads up to anyone with a Co Op nearby...they are now selling Unicorn themed ice creams called... Rainbow Uni-Cones ! Yep, they've jumped on the magical unicorn highway and have created these Ice Creams complete with vanilla and raspberry ice cream, sprinkles and bizarrely, black waffle cones. Maybe to highlight the filling? Who knows! Going further to the Dark Side, they've also created these "Twice as Ice!" Double Chocolate Waffle Cones . I can't say they appeal to me, as much as like all things chocolatey. In fruitier ice creams, they're also doing these cool-looking Pineapple Lollies . Sounds tasty! They're also doing this lovely sounding Cherry Bakewell Ice Cream , complete with almond flavour ice cream, cherry sauce and digestive biscuit. Yum! Plus a Coconut & Belgian Chocolate Ice Cream , complete with butter enriched coconut biscuit and a truffle centre. As well as this ...
