Nestle Yorkie Crack It Desserts

Image
Nestle have recently launched more of their chocolate bars into dessert form, this time with a layer of chunky chocolate above the dessert so you can "get stuck in to the delicious chocolate dessert beneath". Sounds fun doesn't it?! There's two varieties so far, Rolo and Yorkie, but strangely my local Tesco only had the Yorkie variety in the other day. Hopefully the Rolo one is coming soon. They cost £1.30 for two pots of 90g of dessert, although I'm sure they will be on special offer at some point. It's basically chocolate dessert with a layer of set chocolate above it...there were a few grooves in it so I stuck my spoon into them. I must admit it was somewhat fun smashing through the chocolate. Unfortunately, that was where the fun ended. The actual chocolate dessert is quite bland, it's not particularly creamy or chocolatey, just a standard chocolate dessert. I couldn't help but wish I had the Rolo variety instead! Overall, these...

Nestlé Yorkie Peanut (Limited Edition!) Review

Image
Nestlé UK recently announced the launch  of a new limited edition Peanut Yorkie, which is exciting news since we don't often get many peanut chocolate bars here (although Peanut Lion Bars recently made a return - hurrah!). Of course many of my readers will know that peanut Yorkie isn't "new" as such, it's been around before...there's even a Facebook Page to bring it back (although isn't there a Facebook page to bring everything back these days?!) Considering all this I think we're lucky Nestlé chose to resurrect it...it's not too often that old much loved products get a chance to shine again (case in point: Banjo Wafer Bars !) The bar is described as "Chunky milk chocolate with peanuts (25%)" and contains 25% cocoa solids. Opening the wrapper, the first thing I noticed was the intense smell of roasted peanut. It reminded me of the mighty Snickers bar, but with an even more intense peanut aroma. It's split into 5 chunky blo...

Nestlé Yorkie Honeycomb Bar (Limited Edition) Review

Image
When I saw these Limited Edition Honeycomb Yorkie bars at 3 for a pound in a discount store recently I knew I couldn't say no. Even after reading The Snack Review's post saying how rubbish they were last year, the fact I might never get to try one again practically forced me to buy them. I can't let a limited edition chocolate bar come and go without me trying it! By co-incidence, I purchased these Yorkie's on the same day as the new Galaxy Honeycomb Crisp , so it was interesting to compare two different types of honeycomb chocolate bars. The difference was huge - Yorkie Honeycomb is like the peasant of honeycomb chocolate bars compared to the king that is Galaxy Honeycomb Crisp. This bar was indeed as rubbish as Dave said in his review. Yorkie's aren't known for the quality of their chocolate these days anyway, but rather their chunky shaped blocks which are "not for girls" ( or at least that's what the   adverts used to say . I thin...

Yorkie Man Size Buttons

Image
Ladies, look away now! Because here we have Yorkie Man Size Buttons, which are manly chocolate buttons, especially for men. Yes, I finally discovered these after being bemused that Nestle would launch such a product. I like to think they're meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but it's hard to tell since products are increasingly being marketed at men and women separately these days. Yorkie have been doing this for ages of course, so it's not much of a surprise, but it's the first time they've launched Yorkie outside of the traditional bar format. I found these on offer for £1 in Tesco alongside Mini Matchmakers (maybe those are for the ladies?). They're huge compared to regular chocolate buttons and because of this there's less in a pack, which is a good excuse not to share them I guess! Each button measures 4cm as promised on the pack: They taste nice; sweet and milky with that distinctive "Nestle taste" like you get with Kitkats. I actually foun...
