Marks & Spencer Crazy Orange Loaded Bar

Image
Not content with the rather funky and tasty White, Milk & Dark Chocolate bar they brought out last year, Marks & Spencer have expanded their chocolate range further to include this rather cool looking "Crazy Orange Loaded" bar. Whilst the name is a bit clunky, the bar design is rather fantastic...it's reminiscent of the Cadbury Marvellous Creations bars with their irregular blocks, but a lot more elegant: Also similar to Marvellous Creations, it contains a mix of different sweets; orange chocolate beans, tangy orange jelly pieces, and milk chocolate nibs. As if this wasn't enough, the chocolate is orange flavoured and contains a top layer of milk chocolate and a bottom layer of dark chocolate. This was definitely an interesting bar. I really enjoyed the orange flavour, it's lovely and refreshing, and much nicer than Terry's Chocolate Orange. The chocolate beans added some extra orangey crunch whilst the jellies were chewier and tangier......

Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Ice Creams: Jelly Popping Candy

Image
Cadbury have recently introduced their new brand "Marvellous Ice Creams" to the frozen food category, which comes in 4 varieties: Zingy Raspberry Choc Brownie, Salted Caramel & Sour Cherry,  Fairground Candy Crunch , and this one - Jelly Popping Candy. Although I was expecting to enjoy Fairground Candy Crunch the most, I actually ended up liking this one a lot more. The tastes and textures were spot on! It's described as "Vanilla and chocolate flavour ice creams swirled with milk chocolate, sugar coated jelly pieces, fat coated popping candy pieces and candy coated milk chocolate pieces". Although some of those might sound a little odd or plain, they work together perfectly! As my readers now know (to much amusement, no doubt!) I carry mini cutlery with me wherever I go. What can I say, I like to be prepared in case of finding tasty new snacks! Like the Fairground Candy Crunch the ice creams were both swirled together with the added goodies mixed ...

Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Ice Creams: Fairground Candy Crunch

Image
Recently, Cadbury announced the launch of their new "Marvellous Ice Creams" range, which includes 4 flavours: Zingy Raspberry Choc Brownie, Fairground Candy Crunch, Jelly Popping Candy and Salted Caramel & Sour Cherry. So far I've tried two of the flavours and my first review is for Fairground Candy Crunch. Fairground Candy Crunch is an evocative name, it conjured up images of candyfloss and helter skelters in my mind, so I was very excited to try this. I know...I'm such a sucker for marketing! The ice cream is described as "Candyfloss and chocolate flavour ice creams, swirled with milk chocolate, pink sugar crunch, sugar coated jelly pieces and mini marshmallows". Opening the tub reveled the two ice creams swirled together, with plenty of pink sugar sprinkles and jelly pieces embedded within. The taste was interesting. The candyfloss ice cream had a strong candyfloss flavour - very sweet and almost floral. The chocolate ice cream was rather pla...

Cadbury Marvellous Mix-Ups Banana Sour Fudge Dessert - Review

Image
Cadbury are churning out a lot of odd flavour combinations recently...first they did a Cherry Cola Fizz dessert and now this - Banana Sour Fudge! I have to wonder if anyone actually likes these odd flavours they keep bringing out; sure, they're interesting and novel, but the novelty must wear off eventually. I guess that's why they're just limited editions... This dessert is described as "Smooth & creamy dessert made with melted Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate with a side of milk chocolate coated butter candy, banana flavour candied fudge pieces & raspberry flavour sour candy balls". A weird mis-mash of flavours if ever there was one! So how did it taste...? Well, firstly the chocolate dessert itself was very nice, it's pretty much the same as Dairy Milk Pots of Joy and the smoothness and creaminess is very welcoming. Adding the goodies and mixing them in produced an interesting taste sensation...lots of artificial fruit flavours; sourness from th...

Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Mix-Ups Cherry Cola Fizz Dessert (Limited Edition) - Review

Image
I've been on the lookout for the new Dairy Milk Marvellous Mix-Ups desserts for ages so was glad to finally track one down in Sainsbury's this weekend. Oddly, I couldn't find the "fruity jelly popping candy" variety that was apparently launched last month. The "mix-up" consists of "smooth and creamy dessert made with melted Cadbury Milk Chocolate, with a side of cherry flavour candy cereal balls, fizzy cola flavour jellies & milk chocolate coated cereal clusters". A very unique combination indeed! Peeling off the lid revealed the chocolate dessert and sweets mixture in separate sections, rather like a Müller Corner: The sweets mixture had a pleasant cherry aroma, with a slight cola tang in there too. I tipped it into the chocolate dessert as instructed. Mixing it with the dessert resulted in a lumpy, chocolatey mass that didn't look all that appetizing, to be honest! The dessert tasted sweet and creamy and pretty much the...

Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Mix-Ups with Maynards (Vegetarian) Jellies Review

Image
Hot on the heels of Marvellous Mix-Ups with Oreo , today I'm reviewing Marvellous Mix-Ups with Maynards. Unlike the Oreo version this is more unusual in that it contains jelly sweets...with chocolate! Marvellous Creations are known for their jelly and chocolate combinations, of course; ( Jelly Popping Candy and Cola Pretzel Honeycomb ) so this comes as no surprise. In a way I suppose you're getting the best of both worlds with a product like this - it saves the bother of deciding between sweets or chocolate when you need a snacks fix! (we've all had that dilemma, right?) The bag contains Dairy Milk Caramel Nibbles, Fudge Dreams and Maynards jellies. I'm not sure which jellies specifically as they aren't Wine Gums or Jelly Babies...just different fruit-flavoured jellies in fruit shapes. The Fudge Dreams are the same as those found in Cadbury's Milk Tray, although this isn't highlighted on the pack. Opening the bag I was a little sad at the small amount...

Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Mix-Ups with Oreo Review

Image
As well as the new Marvellous Creations Banana Caramel Crisp bar, Cadbury's have also launched these new "Marvellous Mix-Ups" and the idea is that they're a "mix up" of different chocolates and sweets made by Cadbury. As someone who remembers penny "mix-ups" as a kid I was quite excited to see how the combinations would work, and if they could rival Revels for flavour-combining! Today's review is for the Oreo variety (there's also a Maynards jellies variety - review due soon!) When I first read the description for these I was a little skeptical as it seems like a sneaky way to re-package existing products. The "mix-up" features Giant Dairy Milk Buttons,  Dairy Milk Pebbles , Mini Oreos and White Chocolate Buttons. All delicious products in their own right...but what matters is whether or not they all work together, and luckily they do! Opening the bag there was a nice amount of each product, with plenty of white chocolate b...

Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Creations Banana Caramel Crisp Review

Image
The new Dairy Milk Marvellous Creations bar is finally out in time for Easter, and what a marvellous creation it is indeed! This bar seems to be replacing the Cola Pretzel Honeycomb  variety introduced last year, which can now be found in Poundland and other discount stores. The 200g bar is on introductory offer at Asda for £1.50 at the moment but the RRP will be £2.50. It's described as "Milk chocolate with banana flavoured candy pieces (8%), caramel pieces (5%) and malted cereal balls (3%)", and like the other Marvellous Creations flavours comes in a "crazy paving" style slab. This made it a little awkward to break into pieces, but I managed to find some chunks with bits of banana candy sticking out: The aroma of the bar had me salivating - it reminded me of the (now discontinued)  Dairy Milk with Shortcake Biscuit I used to love, as the cereal pieces had a similar biscuity aroma. I was fully expecting the chocolate to taste weird due to the banana ...

Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Creations: Cola Pretzel Honeycomb Bar Review

Image
Hot on the heels of their previous Marvellous Creations bars, Jelly Popping Candy and Cookie Nut Crunch , Cadbury have released this weird new "Cola Pretzel Honeycomb" variety. Cadbury were teasing this bar on Twitter just the other day so I was surprised to see it nestled amongst the other Marvellous Creations bars at Asda not long after. This one is described as "Milk chocolate with chewy cola flavour nuggets (8%), pieces of salted pretzel (4%) and honeycomb (3%)". The bar comes in irregular-shaped blocks like the other Marvellous Creations bars: Despite being only 4% of the total bar, there looked to be plenty of pretzel pieces embedded in the chocolate: This has to be one of the craziest chocolate bars Cadbury have ever released, and I was expecting it to be too weird to taste nice, but...I actually kinda liked it! The chocolate smelled as good as ever with it's comforting, creamy Dairy Milk scent. Snapping a piece off released a faint whiff of c...

Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Creations: Jelly Popping Candy & Cookie Nut Crunch

There's been a lot of excitement brewing in the snacking world about these new bars from Cadbury. They have already been launched in Australia and are apparently a big hit over there, so Cadbury have decided to launch them here in the UK too. To my surprise, I found these almost literally on my doorstep at a local Premier store. They were price marked at 50p per bar, which is an RRP Trial Price. Presumably they will be bumped up in price at a later date. The wrapper designs are quite cool and very eye catching. I think they look a lot more fun and quirky than regular Dairy Milk bars. Opening the wrappers I was met with the unmistakable aroma of Cadbury Dairy Milk. I couldn't wait to tuck in! The blocks are irregularly shaped which I think is a nice idea; it adds to the overall "fun" experience of these bars. Jelly Popping Candy Jelly Popping Candy Shells: This bar is described as "Milk chocolate with fruit flavour jellies (6%), sugar coated cocoa can...
