Charlene's Chocolate Factory Caramel Salt Smoke & Milk Orange Bars

Image
You may all remember the Charlene's Chocolate Factory's Bubblegum Blonde bar I reviewed last year, a very unique and BLUE bar of chocolate - these guys certainly don't do things by halves! So I was super excited when they reached out again to offer me to review more bars from the range, including the Caramel Salt & Smoke Bar, aka one of the tastiest bars around!  The name Charlene's Chocolate Factory is based on Charlie and The Chocolate Factory as the founders are big fans of the film. To this end they produce a range of unique bars in an array of interesting flavours, like Hazelnut & Pretzel White Chocolate, Rhubarb & Custard White Chocolate (this looks amazing!) and a fun looking Unicorn Bar. Check them all out here: https://www.charleneschocolatefactory.co.uk/shop-1 . Starting with the Caramel Smoke Sea Salt bar, this is essentially a variation on Blonde Chocolate with smoked sea salt added. And it tastes pretty darn amazing! Think a...

Charlene's Chocolate Factory Raspberry Dark Chocolate

Image
Today's review is the last bar I was sent from the lovely Charlene's Chocolate Factory, whose bars I previously reviewed included  Bubblebum Blonde chocolate , Mint Choc Chip , Beetroot Chocolate and Coffee Chocolate . Today's is somewhat more "normal" in comparison, but just as tasty as the other bars. Based on the film Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Charlene's Chocolate Factory make unique and colourful bars in a variety of flavours and varieties such as Gin and Tonic, Salt & Pepper Caramel, Cherry Bakewell and even...Rosemary! Yes, they certainly have something for everyone and you can check out their unique range here:  https://www.charleneschocolatefactory.co.uk/   They do a lot of bars suitable for vegans; this one is part of the range and is a blend of dark chocolate with freeze dried raspberries. One side is portioned into blocks whilst the other is flatter and patterned.  It tastes lovely; the dark chocolate is just the right level of r...

Charlene's Chocolate Factory Wake Me Up Before You Cocoa

Image
Another review courtesy of Charlene's Chocolate Factory today, makers of interesting and quirky chocolate bars (check out my reviews of their Bubblegum Blonde , Mint Choc Chip and Beetroot Bars !). This time it's for something a bit more common as a chocolate flavouring - coffee, brilliantly named after the classic Wham! hit. I do love me some coffee in the mornings, so I loved the idea of being woken up by a chocolate bar rather than coffee! A bit of background first: Charlene's Chocolate Factory are of course named after the classic Charlie and The Chocolate Factory film, and are dedicated to making interesting and quirky bars, from the likes of Gin and Tonic, Marmite and various fantastically-coloured bars. To check out their range see: www.charleneschocolatefactory.co.uk A darker bar than the others I've reviewed, this vegan chocolate contains 72% cocoa solids and has ground coffee beans direct from Italy added. Ooh-er! One side has a lovely patterned e...

Charlene's Chocolate Factory Beet It Bar

Image
Another review from the rather interesting Charlene's Chocolate Factory today, who make a wide variety of funky chocolate bars from the likes of the blue Bubblegum Blonde bar to Mint Choc Chip , and others like Gin and Tonic and even Marmite! Find them on their website here: https://www.charleneschocolatefactory.co.uk/ Yes there's definitely something for everyone, even to the point of catering for the vegetable lovers with this "Sweetened Dark Chocolate with Beetroot". I chose this one to review out of pure curiousity...just how would the familiar earthy vegetable taste in chocolate form?! Containing 60% cocoa solids and powdered beetroot, the bars weigh 90g and have a lovely pink patterned design on one side - the other side is regular blocks. I took a bite. The taste is...not as weird as I expected! It's surprisingly sweet, and I certainly didn't expect it to lend a nice mild flavour to the chocolate. Yes there's the earthy unmistakable beetr...

Charlene's Chocolate Factory Mint Choc Chip

Image
Following on from the Bubblegum Blonde Chocolate from Charlene's Chocolate Factory, today's review is for their Mint Choc Chip bar, a green-coloured white chocolate containing mint and milk chocolate chips. You can buy this from Charlene's website here:  https://www.charleneschocolatefactory.co.uk The name Charlene's Chocolate Factory is of course based on the classic film Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, and their range includes some unique and unusual flavoured bars, from Gin and Tonic to Basil & Rosemary, and even Marmite. They certainly have something for everyone! While the colour of the Bubblegum Blonde bar may have been a bit out there, this one is more reminiscent of the innards of a Mint Aero, which is quite comforting - you know to expect sweet minty goodness! And that's exactly what this bar is, sweet minty white chocolate, offset with the milk chocolate chunks. It's sweet and it works very well, the milk chocolate chunks break up the s...

Charlene's Chocolate Factory Bubblegum Blonde

Image
Today's review is for a rather novel chocolate, it was kindly sent to me by Charlene's Chocolate Factory , a company inspired by Charlie And The Chocolate Factory specializing in unique flavour combinations. I chose this one because it sounded rather special indeed. Not only is it made from white chocolate, it's bubblegum flavoured and coloured bright blue - how cool is that?! Opening the wrapper it had a super strong bubblegum aroma...I was kind of expecting this to taste a bit too sickly. Luckily the taste works; it's creamy and super sweet of course but has a strong bubblegum flavour, that will remind anyone of being a kid again. Overall, there's not actually much I can say about this bar because it tastes as you'd expect - like sweet bubblegum with a creamy edge! Definitely one for the kids (and big kids)! For more info on the range, which also includes a Gin and Tonic flavour (!) check out Charlene's Chocolate Factory website: https://www.cha...
