Cadbury Wispa Biscuits Review

Whilst in Asda recently I spotted these new Wispa biscuits so of course I couldn't resist giving them a try. Wispa is such an iconic British brand and it's only made a resurgence in recent years, but now Mondelez are pushing it into new territories; Hot Chocolate , Ice Creams , Bite-Size...and now biscuits! Of course bubbly chocolate combined with biscuit isn't really such a new concept - Fox's did it for a while with their discontinued Echo bars , and Aero also do their own range of bubbly biscuits . How do these Wispa biscuits compare? Firstly they're very differently shaped; they're in the same round shape as the Caramel, Turkish, Creme Egg etc biscuits made by Burton's for Cadbury. They contain a shortcake base with a layer of Wispa chocolate, fully coated in milk chocolate. Cadbury Creme Egg Biscuits Review

I've been on the hunt for these new Creme Egg biscuits for a while now. I usually manage to spot new products in shops immediately but these proved to be quite illusive here up North! Luckily I finally found a pack in Tesco this week for a reasonable £1. There's 6 biscuits per pack which is a decent amount for the price. They're made by Burtons Biscuits under license from Cadbury (who produce famous biscuits such as Wagon Wheels , Jammie Dodgers, Maryland Cookies etc), and look rather similar to other biscuits in this range such as the Cadbury Caramel and Turkish Delight biscuits. The difference being of course that they contain a layer of the famous gooey fondant that is Creme Egg! Here it is in all its gooey glory: Taste-wise they were good...almost too good. They surprised me by just how much they managed to recreate the classic creme egg flavour - that super-sweet vanilla hinted fondant that we all know and love!
