Galaxy Fruit & Nut Chocolate Review

Image
I didn’t even know that Galaxy UK had stopped selling their Fruit & Nut variety until recently, when GB gifts announced they were getting some in. Apparently they haven’t been on shelves for a while now but I always just assumed they were still around. However I do have strong memories of trying them as a kid, in fact I had relatives who would buy the big blocks of them, back in the days when chocolate bars were still BIG. Whilst I came to love Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut over the years, I did remember enjoying the Galaxy version for its creamy chocolate paired with fruit and nuts - a sweeter experience than Dairy Milk, but then Galaxy chocolate always has been (I think that may have changed in recent years). This version from GB Gifts, which is sourced from Galaxy Arabia like the Galaxy White Chocolate (why do they get all the best snacks?!) is pretty much the same as I recall although now comes in the sleek thin block design. Still it’s the silky Galaxy choco...

The Grown Up Chocolate Company Fruit & Nut Milk Chocolate

Image
If you've never heard of the Grown Up Chocolate Company before allow me to introduce you. They produce a range of "grown up" chocolates that are aimed more at adults than children and have a variety of bars based on classics, but with an indulgent twist. For example they have their own versions of Bounty, Snickers and even Twix! They've recently branched out into solid slabs with a variety of fillings, such as Dark Chocolate with Salted Caramel , Milk Chocolate with Hazelnuts and today's review which is Fruit and Nut in Milk Chocolate. How does this differ from regular fruit and nut chocolate bars? Well instead of just raisins and almonds it contains apricots and cranberries as well as almonds and hazelnuts, which is pretty unique for a fruit and nut bar! Opening the foil wrapper the fruit and nuts were clearly visible on the underside of the bar and looked very plentiful. This bar was certainly jam-packed with fruit and nuts, as you can see above the cr...

Kind Fruit & Nut/Nuts & Spices Bars Review

Image
A big thankyou to the team at Kind for sending me their range of Fruit and Nut and Nuts and Spice bars to review recently...the range is now widely available in UK stores and consists of bars with all natural ingredients, that are dairy free, vegetarian as well as gluten free. There's a lot of varieties in the range, and below are my thoughts on a few that I was sent. Almond & Coconut Fruit & Nut Bar: Containing a mixture of almonds, coconut, honey and rice flour, this bar was full of chunky almonds which made it very satisfying to crunch. The coconut gives it that nice mellow tropical flavour, with the honey bringing a light natural sweetness. Overall, a very satisfying and tasty bar! 8.5 out of 10. Caramel, Almond & Sea Salt Nuts & Spices Bar: This is one I've reviewed already, so be sure to check out my review HERE ! Dark Chocolate Nuts & Sea Salt Bar: Containing 60% mixed nuts, honey and a dark chocolate flavour coating (dairy free), this wa...

The Co Op Loved By Us Hazelnut Latte Fruit And Nut Mix

Image
After reading One Treat aka Marmey's review of this special fruit and nut mix from The Co Op, I decided I just had to try it...I'm a big coffee lover and am yet to find a good coffee and chocolate combo. But the search continues...and this fruit and nut mix may just be the answer! These cost £1 for a 50g bag in The Cop and are suitable for vegetarians as well as gluten free. The mixture is made up of raisins, roasted hazelnuts, coffee flavour milk chocolate buttons, and plain chocolate coated coffee beans. And it's a winning combination! It's just the right amount of differing flavours and textures; there's the creamy coffee flavoured buttons, which are probably better than most coffee flavoured chocolates I've tried - not too bitter and not too sweet, the richer coffee beans with their intense roasted coffee flavour, and the welcoming nuttiness from the hazelnuts, all finished off with some sweet fruity bursts from the raisins. This is a surprisi...

New Cadbury's Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut CHOPPED

Image
I honestly wasn't going to bother reviewing this new Fruit & Nut Chopped bar from Cadbury when it initially came out, it's just Cadbury upto their usual tricks of giving you less product for the same price, but after reading One Treat's Review I decided it was my duty to inform everyone of just what Cadbury's are upto!   Unlike a regular 120g bar of Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut, this bar contains 95g but costs the same - £1. Opening the wrapper I could instantly see that although the bar looks longer, it's significantly flatter, more like a Milka bar than a Dairy Milk really! It's a shame Mondelez are determined to stamp out the traditional "chunky" style blocks we all used to know and love Dairy Milk for! Snapping the bar in half I could see the chopped nuts and raisins (or "dried grapes" as Cadbury so enticingly call them on the ingredients list) dispersed throughout, and I must admit it looked like a nicely proportioned bar...
