Following on from my review of the new Doisy and Dam D&D's and Ballers chocolates, I thought I'd review their new take on Mini Eggs - a vegan friendly, lower sugar dark chocolate version! You can find these in Holland and Barrett stores for £1.79 or so for 80g. They're clearly positioning themselves as a vegan alternative to Cadbury Mini Eggs, and contain 70% cocoa dark chocolate which has 30% less sugar than the leading market product (Cadbury's). It all sounds good, and thankfully even though I was very disappointed in their D&D's and Ballers range, these surprised me! They have classic Mini Egg style crunchy pastel shells, and the dark chocolate within is quite rich in taste. They're much better than the D&D's which I was surprised by, perhaps the higher ratio of chocolate to shell works in their favour. These are highly nommable, easy to eat one after the other but they do leave you feeling satisfied faster than something more sugary. ...

These "Only for Royalties Eggs" were kindly sent to me to review and are available in stores now for £3, they're quirky chocolate hollow eggs themed after Royalty - so perfect for couples! There's a lot of hollow Easter Eggs out there with varying quality, but these seem pretty decent in comparison to some - the chocolate is creamy and melts nicely. Presumably Danish chocolate is a step up from our British stuff! Easter is a while off yet, but you wouldn't think it to look in most supermarkets. I've lost count of how many times I've heard people say "Easter stuff already?!!" in the Tesco Seasonal aisle! If only they knew that a lot of it was already out even before Christmas... One of the newbies I did pick up before Christmas were these M&M's Mini Eggs, a new addition to the Mini Eggs world, king of which is of course Cadbury Mini Eggs, followed by Orange Smarties and Milkybar Mini Eggs (in my opinion anyway). How would these compare to the greats? You can find these for around £1 in most stores, and there's larger "egg hunt" bags of them in Tesco for £3.50, plus small packets, and there's even a version with a hollow egg. Opening the bag they certainly looked the part - the shells have a nice pastel colour and actually looked better than Cadbury Mini Eggs. Sadly they're a bit disappointing. It wouldn't be Easter without a whopping Easter Eggs In Shops post, so without further ado let's crack on...or rather crack the eggs! First up - an Egg everyone will no doubt want this Easter, the Cadbury Dairy Milk Ultimate Daim Egg, which contains crunchy Daim pieces in the shell. There's also a Fruit & Nut variety. Cadbury Dairy Milk "The Purple Egg": Available from Sainsbury's, this egg was simply described as "The Purple Egg" - presumably the colour purple is enough to be associated with Cadbury Dairy Milk! It's simply a milk chocolate egg wrapped in purple foil. Price: £1. Cadbury Dairy Milk Ultimate Chopped Nut Egg: As well as the Daim and Fruit & Nut eggs, Cadbury are doing this Dairy Milk Chopped Nut Egg that is exclusively available in Tesco.
