Marks and Spencer White Chocolate Fudge Sauce

When I heard about this new product from Marks & Spencer on Twitter I knew I had to seek it out. I've always had a sweet tooth and enjoy white chocolate when it's of a decent quality.

I can say that if you have a sweet tooth then you will LOVE this! It's a lot creamier than I expected, and is extremely rich as it contains double cream as well as white chocolate. You're supposed to heat the sauce for 15 seconds in the microwave, but I scooped it straight from the jar and ate it as it was - I'm sure Nigella would approve!

This would probably be great poured over puddings or icecream (as it's meant to be), although I haven't tried either yet.

There's also a salted caramel version which I'm hoping to try at some point, as well as chocolate truffle. They're £2.99 a jar which sure ain't cheap, but then this is M&S quality we're talking about...

I would recommend this if you have a sweet tooth or if you're a white chocolate lover, but otherwise you might want to try try the chocolate truffle or salted caramel sauces instead.

    I haven't tried any of these sauces yet but they do look delicious. I wasn't sure what to do with them but scooping straight out of the jar sounds good!

      If in doubt have it with Nutella on toast...that it my motto!

      I bet this is awesome with ice cream as Kev has suggested, or on cakes!

    holy sh*t. i HAVE to try this stuff! do you know if this is only a temporary product though, please tell me it's on the shelves to stay!?

      Hi, I'm not sure if it's temporary, it didn't say limited edition on it so I presume it's still on shelves :) I've seen it a few times whilst in M&S. Usually in the jams and spreads section.

    I saw these today, and the chocolate truffle one especially had such minimal ingredients I was surprised! I would looooooovvvvvve to try, and I think i'd take your approach of eating it neat!

Asda Tinned Banana Blossom Review

Recently, I spotted a totally new vegetable/fruit (not sure which it actually is!) in Asda called Banana Blossom in a tin. It was next to the tins of Jackfruit which is a well known vegan meat alternative. I assumed it was a similar thing so happily bought some to try - it’s £1.50 a tin. The image on the wrapper looked innocent enough - battered fish pieces, only vegan! Surely this stuff must be good? Turns out that packaging was very misleading because nothing could prepare me for the horror that was lurking inside...when I opened the tin it was like opening something from a horror film, discovering the mouldy body of an ancient alien creature or other such evil. It looked hideous!! “Surely this is not meant for human consumption?!”, I thought. Heck it’s not even suitable for bird consumption....I think flies would even turn their nose up at this thing, which looked like rotten infested seaweed. Lidl Way To Go Fin Carre Ethical Chocolate

I recently spotted some new funky looking bars in Lidl, and instantly they reminded me of Tony’s Chocolonely bars, the ethical brand that launched last year donating money to helping end slavery in cocoa production. I’ve always loved the Tony’s brand and I think in 2020, more than ever, we need more ethically produced products - it should be expected, let’s be honest! So it’s always nice to see another brand like this even if it’s essentially copying Tony’s. I got the dark chocolate version to try as I was curious how it would be compared to other dark chocolates. In hindsight this was a mistake, as the actual chocolate is nothing extraordinary. It’s nice enough and good quality don’t get me wrong but it has no particular distinct flavour to make me buy it again. I’ll certainly try the other two flavours which are Milk Chocolate and Almond and Sea Salt, and I do like the chunky haphazard block design that mimics Tony’s Chocolonely.
