Haribo Scaremix with Spooky Flavours Review

haribo scaremix halloween

Following on from my review of Haribo TangfasTricks, today we have the other new Haribo Halloween Limited Edition (although curiously it just says "new" rather than limited edition). Unlike TangfasTricks, this variety provides some new "spooky" flavours to chew on...

haribo scaremix

Left to right: Toffee Apple Monster's Eyeball, Blackcurrant and Bubblegum Vampire Hearts, Blood Orange Witches Brew, Lime Boo Bear, Cherry Boo Bear, Blood Orange Boo Bear, Blood Orange and Apple Dracula Rings, Apple and Blackcurrant Dracula Rings & Blackcurrant and Blueberry Dracula Rings.

The Blackcurrant and Apple rings were pretty good...a nice strong blackcurrant flavour with an apple tang.

Boo Bears: Gummy bears will never be scary, whatever name you give them. Luckily the taste isn't either: this cherry one tastes great! The Blood Orange ones have a nice strong zesty tang, whilst the Lime ones have a nice citrus kick.

The Toffee Apple Eyeballs were a little odd...they do indeed have a toffee apple flavour, which is unusual in sweet form.

The Blackcurrant and Bubblegum Hearts were pretty tasty...the bubblegum is subtle but it works really well with the blackcurrant.

Blood Orange Witches Brew: I wasn't too fussed on this one, it's like fizzy orange pop in sweet form. To my mind Cola Bottles are the only acceptable fizzy pop sweets!

The other flavours were nice, but I did feel there were a few too many blackcurrant combinations.

Overall though, this is a pretty good Halloween twist on Starmix; please keep the limited editions coming Haribo! Another Frenzy Edition would be good.
