Moo Free Sea Salt & Lime Chocolate Review

Image
It's a pretty confusing time in the world right now, and as much as I'm worried like the rest of you I'm trying to stay sane through the power of snacks! Check out my Instagram for my most recent reviews - but here's one for a bar I picked up a month or so ago from Waitrose. I do enjoy Moo Free Chocolates and I've heard that in the midst of this pandemic they're struggling due to less demand from supermarkets, so be sure to order from them online if you're a fan. Here's their website: https://www.moofreechocolates.com/ This Lime and Sea Salt rice milk bar is a richer version of their chocolate, with more cocoa in and is very flavoursome as a result. Usually rice milk chocolates can be a bit tasteless even if they're creamy, but here the chocolate is nicely rich, balanced with a tang from the lime with the sea salt rounding off the flavour nicely. It's creamy enough to not be bitter and is more like a high-cocoa milk chocolate, like Cadbur...

Moo Free Vegan White Chocolate Hammy The Hamster

The ever-growing list of Vegan and Dairy Free chocolate options continues to expand, with Galaxy now making their own bars and a Plant Based Cadbury Dairy Milk being planned...and luckily there's also some new white chocolate vegan options popping up too. I've only tried a few varieties so far, there's not many but the supermarket versions I've had were pretty bad. So when I discovered this new Moo Free White Chocolate Easter figure I was cautious...would it be as bad as some of the others? These are available in quite a few supermarkets now with prices ranging from £3-£4, and consists of a strawberry flavoured vegan white chocolate hollow hamster, that is made with recycled packaging and is soya free. It's made with rice milk and starch rather than the maltodextrin found in supermarket versions - which is good news for those who are gluten free since maltodextrin can sometimes cause problems. I was so surprised by how nice this was! The white chocolate is s...

Moo Free Organic Choccy Chums

If you’re dairy free or vegan it sure is difficult to find a decent version of milk chocolate, but thankfully many brands have been busy creating some tasty options. One of them is Moo Free who make a variety of vegan products including Easter Eggs, Bunnies and these new Choccy Chums bars. They’re available from Asda for just over 50p in the Free From section and come with a surprise design on...you’ll get either Lilly Lu Lemur or Mikey Bunny. I got Mikey Bunny, which is of course very fitting for the Easter season! It’s a nice design which will surely appeal to kids. The chocolate is really tasty, sweet and smooth and I like the thin design of it with the chunkier central bunny bit. I often buy two of these bars when going to Asda as one is just never enough. Overall, these are some pretty tasty dairy free chocolates that I’d recommend if you’re vegan or dairy free. 8 out of 10.

Mini Moos Organic Santa Bar

Image
It can be rather hard to find Dairy Free milk chocolates, even more so the Christmassy variety, but luckily Moo Free have come to the rescue this Christmas! Not only do they make a Moo Free Advent Calendar , they're also doing this Mini Moos Organic Santa bar which costs 81p in Morrisons (also available in other stores like Holland & Barrett). It's dairy free, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free, as well as being organic. The ingredients consist of cocoa, sugar and rice powder as well as sunflower lecithin. I didn't know what to expect from this as the wrapper gave no indication, but I was pleasantly surprised to find this shiny, well-moulded santa figure. Compared to some chocolates around this time of year he positively looks like the Real Deal! I felt bad taking a bite, but it had to be done! The chocolate is surprisingly creamy for a dairy free bar, with a nice rich cocoa flavour backing it up. As dairy free chocolate goes it's pretty much perfect; s...

Mini Moos Dairy Free Minty Moo Bar

Image
Recently whilst in Morrisons I was perusing the "free from" section and noticed this dairy free chocolate bar, from the company Moo Free called Mini Moos. Since I've been trying to be healthier in general and reduce dairy in my diet I thought I'd give it a try to see how it compares to a regular old milk chocolate bar. This bar is gluten free, dairy free, organic and approved by the Vegan society. It's made with rice powder in place of milk. The bar contains crunchy mint pieces studded throughout, which you can see below... I have to say this bar really surprised me, it was very tasty indeed and just as good as a regular milk chocolate bar. It didn't taste as sickly sweet, it had a more richer defined flavour, with the mint pieces really shining through. It was very pleasant and refreshing, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd definitely buy this one again! Overall, this is a great little treat from Moo Free, if you're vegan, lactose i...
