Another one from the snacks archive, this one is Nestlé Joe Hot Choco which I found in B&M Bargains. When I first bought this I naively thought that maybe...just maybe...it might include a chocolate mug, because it shows one on the box. I know, silly right?! I was disappointed when I found out that it didn't and felt very foolish indeed! Misleading advertising! What it did contain were 12 sachets of hot chocolate...a bargain for a pound! The hot chocolate tasted very nice indeed, very milky and frothy although perhaps not quite as nice as the likes of Cadbury's Hot Chocolate... but who can grumble for a pound?! Joe is a Romanian Nestlé brand, so I can't determine much more about the actual product unfortunately. I gather the brand is quite popular in Romania and I've reviewed a few of their wafer products before - see here: Nestlé Joe Hazelnut Wafers Nestlé Joe Apple & Cinnamon Wafers RATING: 7 out of 10. 

Whilst visiting London recently I had the chance to peruse a number of stores we don't get here up North. One of them was 99p Stores, which are cusiously absent in my area, even though we have plenty of Poundlands and Poundzones. After a little research it seems that 99p Stores are part of the same company as "Family Bargains", which we do get here up North, infact many of the European snacks I've reviewed on this blog are from there. I found these limited edition apple and cinnamon Joe wafers in the Camden 99p Store. They're Romanian in origin and described as "Crispy mini wafers with milk cream with apple and cinnamon taste". Taste-wise I'm sorry to say they weren't that great. They tasted a bit cheap and were quite crumbly and powdery, although the apple and cinnamon flavour was interesting. They were a bit like Pink Wafers but with apple and cinnamon flavour cream, cut up into little cubes. They were okay but not something I would ...

Since watching Choc It Out's 10 Foreign Chocolate Bars 002 video I've been on the lookout for Nestle Joe wafers. So far I've seen a white chocolate variety which I didn't really fancy, and these hazelnut ones which sounded a bit more appealing. Unfortunately they're not actually coated in chocolate, they're just plain little wafer bites with a chocolate hazelnut cream filling. Each wafer piece is about the size of the bitesize "Bitsa Wispa", for comparison. They taste as you would expect - crunchy, hazelnutty and mildly chocolatey. They're very moreish and good with a cup of coffee. Because of their size it's very easy to get through half of the bag without realizing it! I paid 39p for a 200g bag in B&M Bargains, which I'm sure everyone will agree is a fantastic offer. Overall, I would recommend these if you see them, they're a nice little snack. They remind me of Kitkat Kubes from years ago. Anyone else remember tho...
