New Yeoman Mash Pots Range
A big thanks to Yeoman Foods for sending me their new Mash Pots range to review recently. I hadn't eaten instant mash in quite a while and didn't know it came in handy pots like this, much less with added flavours. The Yeoman Mash Pot range is all Gluten Free, made from real potatoes, suitable for vegetarians, with no artificial colourings and is ready in 30 seconds. Just what you need for a quick snack! There's 4 flavours - Chicken, Beef, Onion and Cream which should be available from Heron Foods, Home Bargains, The Range and Poundstretcher now.
I started with the Chicken variety. Opening the lid revealed the potato granules and herbs - it had an aroma that reminded me of Chicken cup-a-soup.
I added hot water as directed, which transformed the mixture pretty quickly into a tasty, buttery mash. I was surprised by just how buttery it tasted actually - the addition of real cream in the ingredients makes a big difference. I don't know how they've achieved the chicken flavour without meat, but it's very realistic and compliments the herbs. All in all - a pretty tasty snack that's super handy for the working day!
The Cream variety is a more simple and classic combination - who doesn't love creamy mash? It's achieved again by dried cream in the ingredients, giving it a buttery and satisfying edge. Super tasty!
The Onion flavour contains fried onion pieces and onion flavouring, giving it a nice savoury edge that reminded me of cheese and onion. Another tasty combination, ideal for taking to work or as a quick snack at the end of the day.
The Beef variety tastes nice and meaty, again without containing any actual meat. It reminded me somewhat of a beef pot noodle but more filling. Again, very tasty!
Overall, I have to say I'm glad I got to try this range. It's not something I would usually have bought as I don't really think to buy instant mash, but it's very tasty and convenient and hey, it's mash potato what's not to love?! I will definitely be getting these again for those days I can't be bothered to cook. Which unfortunately is all too often lately haha!
