Beloved Dates Fruit Hearts Review

Beloved dates fruit hearts

It's always a batle trying to stay healthy when you love novelty snacks...which is why I'm glad there's so many companies out there these days making the transition to healthy eating easier. There's people like Nakd, Primal Pantry, Meridian and others creating lots of healthy treats, and also joining the party is Beloved. Beloved are known for their Date Syrup, which I haven't tried yet, but I've heard good things about these Date Fruit Hearts from fellow bloggers, so I thought it about time I see what the fuss is about. I must admit, I wasn't expecting a lot since dates are...well...dates...but these snacks really surprised me!

Beloved dates fruit hearts

They're basically cute heart-shaped sweets made from raw pressed dates, and that's it! Each pack comes with a little tray of hearts, 5 in total. They can be found in Asda stores at the end of the fruit & veg sections amongst similar products such as Nakd Nibbles etc. There's two varieties: Original and Zesty Orange. They're gluten-free, dairy-free, suitable for vegans, refined sugar free...basically 100% natural!

And they taste amaaazing! I wasn't expecting much initially because I couldn't see how these would differ that much from plain dates, but the cute heart shapes and the pressed nature made them feel like proper fruity sweets. I felt like I was eating a more natural version of fruit gums, but tastier. The Zesty Orange variety were lush; the natural orange flavouring gave them an edge over the plain variety and they were very moreish.

I really do hope to see more products from Beloved, perhaps they could try other flavours such as mint, or add a dash of cacao powder or coconut...other companies are already doing this of course, but I think Beloved are onto somerthing with these heart shaped sweets. The fact they are nut-free is a great bonus since many people have nut allergies.

Overall, these are some seriously tasty snacks from Beloved - try them!

8.5 out of 10.
