Cadbury Dairy Milk Pebbles Review

When I heard about these Dairy Milk Pebbles I couldn't quite believe that Cadbury were releasing yet another new product. Their releases this year have been never-ending, with Freddo Faces, Strawberries & Creme Dairy Milk, Marvellous Creations, Crunchums, Vanilla Velvet Crispello plus new flavours of Cadbury Eclairs being released...so far!

Now they're adding to that list with the release of these new Dairy Milk Pebbles. They're simply described as "Delicious milk chocolate in a crispy shell" and contain all natural colours.

They look a bit like flattened mini eggs and come in three different colours - dark brown, purple and yellow. I'm not sure what the thinking behind this was, but it's a random set of colours for sure.

Taste-wise they reminded me a lot of Smarties, but with the creamier, more delicious taste of Dairy Milk chocolate. The shells were a lot crunchier than Smarties however, and more akin to Galaxy Minstrels. I really enjoyed them, they had that familiar moreish thing going on that Cadbury Buttons have, with the added addictiveness of the crunchy shells. I couldn't help thinking these would be perfect for sharing at the cinema, although in reality I'd probably end up eating them all to myself!

Overall, I enjoyed these Dairy Milk Pebbles and I'm actually surprised there hasn't been a product like these from Cadbury before. They're simple, but very tasty.

  1. Ooh! Dairy Milk Smarties do sound pretty damn nice. May have to pick up a bag of these whenever I next visit the cinema, as you suggest.

I dunno what's up with Cadbury's and their increasing new product introductions, but I'm not complaining! Another great review Kev.

    1. Thanks Aarun! Yeah I'm not complaining either lol - I've always moaned that there's not enough product variety in snacks so I'm glad we're finally getting some!

  2. Yep, another vote for Dairy Milk Smarties here too. I often opt for Minstrels as a cinema snack as they're a lot less messy then other sharing bag chocolates. I'll definitely be giving these Pebbles a try next time!

  3. Jeepers - Cadbury can't stop releasing stuff can they?! I will definitely be on the look out for these, although I must say that the shops in my area are incredibly slow at bringing the new things out...

    Thanks for the headsup!

  4. I suspect alot of these new releases are not meant to stick around, just away of giving people something new to try, without buying some other than Cadburys. That said this is no bad thing, it at least gives new products a chance.

In this case the Pebbles are well worth that chance, I cant get enough of them, they are just lovely.

  6. Does anybody know if the shells are colourfast? I want to use to decorate a cake, but am worried the colour will run like Smarties do. Thanks.

  8. I have become addicted to Pebbles. They are simply the best chocolate out there. The chocolate inside the shell is so creamy and milky smooth and the shell just crunches deliciously on the teeth. I'm buying quite a few bags a week!
