M&M's Biscuits Review

Image
A while back I reviewed these M&M's Biscuits over on Instagram - they were a German import - and now they're avaialable in the UK from Tesco!  They're classic crunchy biscuits with a chocolate topping and mini M&M's on top - a simple combination, but one that's very fun and tasty! The biscuits have a good wheaty taste, quality milk chocolate and the M&M's add some crunch. Lovely! If this sounds like your thing check them out at Tesco now - they're a bit pricey at £2.50 but will very likely be on special offer at some point soon.  Apologies for the briefer review - I've been busy over on my Instagram and new Facebook page (follow here:  https://www.facebook.com/snacksnews ) which has eaten up most of my spare time. For those still reading this blog - thankyou, it's much appreciated!

Tesco Rhubarb & Custard Creams Review

Image
If you haven't heard by now, Tesco are selling Rhubarb and Custard creams, hurrah! I first posted about these on Instagram over the weekend and it seems it's quite newsworthy indeed...even the Daily Mail mentioned them ;) It is of course very exciting news, and it's rather baffling how no company ever thought of trying such a flavour before now? I mean it just makes logical sense...custard cream, rhubarb and custard...perfect marriage right? Well we now live in age where every mashup possible seems to exist, so it seems like the right time for them to be introduced. Of course, Hill Biscuits have been making various flavoured biscuit creams for years now, from Digestive Creams to Orange, Strawberry and even Chocolate Orange...but that's another story. These Rhubarb and Custard Creams cost 40p for 150g in Tesco and are described as a "Sandwich biscuit with a rhubarb flavour filling. Rhubarb and Custard creams are Crunchy and Fruity, carefully baked to a classi...

Elizabeth Shaw Luxuriously Tempting Biscuit Selection

Image
A big thankyou to Elizabeth Shaw for sending me this Christmas "Luxuriously Tempting" Biscuit Selection pack to review recently. This is a box containing three packs of unique biscuit varieties; Mint and Cocoa, Coconut and Hazelnut and the very festive...White Chocolate and Cranberry! These are available for £5 from Sainsbury's stores in the Christmas gifts aisle. The White Chocolate and Cranberry biscuits certainly looked the part and are described as "chocolate biscuit with cranberry flavour caramel, cranberry flavour pieces and rice crisps in white chocolate". Cutting it open, you can see the chocolate biscuit layer and red coloured caramel sat above. It's an interesting combination, mixing creamy white chocolate with the more bourbon-like cookie base, and the tartness of the cranberries makes it feel almost like a blackforest flavour? This is offset by the sweet caramel, and the rice crisps bring a nice crunchy element that works well with t...

Marks & Spencer Witches Fingers Biscuits

Image
A big thanks to Marks and Spencer Food PR for today's review; they're doing a pretty impressive range of Halloween treats to get your claws into this year (even a a Halloween edition of Percy Pig !), and kindly sent me these Witches Fingers biscuits. They've been around a few years now I think, and are basically tasty biscuit fingers made with golden syrup, with fondant icing fingernails. They may be simple, but they definitely look ghastly! Very fitting for any Halloween party. As we all know looks can of course be deceiving and thankfully they tasted delicious. The crunchy biscuit has a nice golden buttery flavour, owing to the golden syrup and real butter used in the recipe. The fondant icing finishes it off nicely with a little sweet vanilla flavour. It might seem a bit weird biting off fingernails and breaking fingers, but hey ho it's Halloween so such weirdness is OK! Overall, bravo M&S these are a fantastic product for Halloween and a lot of fun inde...

Cadbury Heroes Cupcakes & Rocky Road Mud Cake (Spotted In Shops)

Image
A Spotted In Shops focused on cakes and biscuits today, since there are so many new treats in shops lately!  First up is the rather special Cadbury Heroes Party Cupcakes Selection. Now even though this is called Cadbury Heroes, the cupcakes only feature Cadbury Caramel, Cadbury Crunchie and Cadbury Flake. That's hardly "Heroes", Cadbury! Still these cupcakes with their caramel and chocolate buttercreams do sound pretty scrumptious. Spotted in Tesco. Cadbury Rocky Road Mud Cake: A new "gluten free" Mud Cake from Cadbury, made with Cadbury Chocolate that can be found in the Free From frozen section at Tesco. Although this is gluten free, it's made from wheat starch that has had the gluten removed...so if you're super sensitive to wheat I would advise caution with this. Otherwise, it sounds like a tasty cake indeed! Galaxy Chocolate Mousse Cake: A delicious new cake from Mars, this one features a biscuit base and layers of chocolate mousse, toppe...
