M&Ms Crunchy Caramel Bar

Image
Last year we got several new M&M bars launched in the U.K. and this year they have gone and blessed us with another; a Crunchy Caramel Bar, and not only that they have also brought back Crunchy Caramel M&Ms! I really enjoy the M&M bars as the chocolate is great tasting and the additions plentiful, so this new one was very welcome. I was kindly #gifted a sample bar from Mars PR. This bar includes mini M&Ms and crunchy caramel pieces mixed into the bar and it’s a great combo! There’s the creamy milk chocolate, which is almost like Galaxy and the crunchy mini M&Ms and plentiful crunchy caramel. It’s very crunchy and tasty and brings a nice mix of everything. It’s maybe a stretch to theme it on M&Ms but the M&Ms character on the block looks super cool so I’ll let them off with that! Overall, another delicious addition to the range which should be available in Tesco stores very soon. Let me know if you try these!

Cadbury Caramilk Twirl Review

Image
As usual, Australia get all the best new snack releases and that’s no exception with these Cadbury Caramilk Twirls, which luckily you can get from Gb Gifts website (code Kevs10 gets 10% off). I’ve tried the regular Aussie Caramilk bar already and enjoyed it but this Twirl takes it to the next level...it’s delicious! It’s folds of swirly caramelised white chocolate, that tastes a bit like Caramac but creamier with a good coating of Cadbury milk chocolate to balance out the sweetness. It’s reminiscent of Cadbury Snowflake, if you remember those. Perhaps even better! A delicious concoction which of course means we won’t be getting it in the U.K, but let’s hope import companies are able to keep a steady stream coming into the country! For now keep your eyes on GB Gifts for incoming stock plus lots more Aussie and European limited editions. 9/10.

Poundland Twin Peaks Caramel Crunch Review

Image
Despite being a knock-off of Toblerone, Poundland's Twin Peaks bar has now racked up quite a number of varieties...there's everything from Milk Chocolate , White Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Fruit and Nut...and there was even a Honeycomb flavour. It seems however that Honeycomb has made way for this new variety - Caramel Crunch (at least, they didn't have Honeycomb in Poundland when I spotted this). It sounds a bit like Daim crossed with Toblerone, doesn't it? The description certainly made it sound as such: "Milk chocolate with caramel, almond and honey nougat pieces". It comes in a vibrant, eye-catching red wrapper which is the only reason I noticed it nestled amongst all the other Twin Peaks bars. The block design is a bit different from Toblerone - probably to protect it from infringing copyright - and honestly doesn't look as cool. It's supposedly inspired by the Wrekin and Ercall hills which are based in Shropshire. But we all know what it...

Quality Street Chocolate Caramel Brownie replacing Toffee Deluxe!

Image
It's been a few years now since Nestle added a new variety to their Quality Street boxes, which was Honeycomb Crunch - do check out my review of it from 2016. They're at it again however and this time have even admitted it's a ploy to get folks attention - they've removed the Toffee Deluxe from boxes and replaced it with a "Chocolate Caramel Brownie". Does it contain brownie? Of course not, and maybe that's all part of the controversy plan...it's simply a chocolate flavoured caramel. Now don't get me wrong, it tastes very good! Chocolate flavour caramel is always a nice variation of regular caramel, giving it an extra oomph of cocoa flavour, and somewhat toning down the sweetness of the caramel. But it ain't no brownie - a brownie is a fudgey cake! Since when did it become shorthand for companies to do an "extra chocolatey" version of whatever? The rest of the chocolates are all as you'd expect, full of sweet, cheap fa...

Cadbury Caramel Twirl Limited Edition (Australia)

Image
A big thankyou to Panda333 for kindly sending me some Australian treats over to the UK to try a while back - there were some great gems in there, including the Tropical M&M's I've previously reviewed, and another one I was very excited to try - Cadbury Twirl Caramel flavour! This was a limited edition in Australia, I believe, and consists of the classic Cadbury Twirl flaky chocolate but with a caramel flavour twist.  Opening the wrapper it certainly had a caramel aroma and a whiff of the distinctive Cadbury chocolate we are all familiar with.  It tastes...nice, but not quite as amazing as I had built up in my mind. The chocolate actually tastes slightly different to UK Cadbury chocolate, it's perhaps a tad creamier. The caramel flavour is there and it adds a nice twist but it's not quite as strong or realistic tasting as I'd hoped. The ingredients list has "flavourings" on it, so there you go. If they'd have used caramelised chocolate or suga...

Graham's Goodness Espresso Caramel Ice Cream

Image
The supermarkets have gone into a frenzy recently and started doing their own versions of low calorie high protein ice creams, with Aldi now doing a version, Morrisons , Asda and even Lidl! They've just started selling a 4 variety range from Graham's Family Dairy, which is lower in sugar and higher in protein than most regular ice creams. I was lucky enough to be sent the range to sample from Graham's - thanks so much guys! These are available from Lidl stores now for £2.99 a tub. There's White Chocolate and Rasperry and Salted Caramel available now and also Mint Choc Chip and this Espresso Caramel Ice Cream in the range. I'm starting with this because it was my absolute favourite and is a pretty unique ice cream too. The whole tub contains 310 Calories and 21g Protein. Now I don't know how this compares to the calorie and protein contents of other ice creams (I'm not one of those who care - ice cream is ice cream as far as I'm concerned and it...

Marks & Spencer Chocolate Hot Cross Caramels

Image
I do love some of the unique and quirky things Marks and Spencer come up with for their seasonal ranges. This Easter they’re doing everything from a rather rude looking Yoga Chocolate Bunny , a Prosecco Egg , a Jazzie Egg , a Blonde Egg , and now they’ve just added a Ruby Chocolate Egg to the list too! Something on the more affordable end that caught my eye in there recently though were these Milk Chocolate Hot Cross Caramels which are £1.75 a pack. They’re classic good quality marks and Spencer milk chocolates filled with a gooey spiced caramel, with flavours of citrus and raisin to replicate the authentic hot cross bun flavour. And they have pretty much nailed it! If you like hot cross buns and chocolate it’s safe to safe you’ll probably like these - they’re delicious! The caramel tastes luxurious; buttery and gooey and is just the right texture with hints of citrus and spices, and does indeed taste very much like hot cross bun! (As much a something can without actually havi...

Galaxy Cake Bar Selection Cracker

Image
A big thankyou to McVitie's Cakes who sent me this Galaxy Cake Bar Selection Cracker to review recently. It just turned up one morning unexpectedly...always a nice surprise to receive snacks! The Cracker is especially designed for the festive season, containing 11 mini Galaxy cake bars and is available from B&M and Tesco stores. The selection consists of Galaxy Salted Caramel cakes, Galaxy Caramel cakes, Orange cakes and Chocolate cakes. The salted caramel variety contains chocolate sponge cake with a layer salted caramel sat above it - what a delicious combination! Definitely the best from this box, with a nice balance of buttery, salty caramel, moist cake and smooth chocolate. The Caramel cake bar contains smooth caramel and is just as delicious as the salted caramel variety, with sweeter caramel if you prefer that over salted. It's just as delicious and a classic treat. The Chocolate cake bars contains chocolate cake and chocolate cream, which is...

Grown Up Chocoate Company Sea Salted Caramel Dark Chocolate

Image
Today's review is from The Grown Up Chocolate Company, who I have featured several times with their interesting and unconventional bars (check out my Mince Pie Bar review!). They kindly offered me a sample of this new Sea Salt Caramel in Dark Chocolate Bar, so of course I couldn't say no! Their bars are handmade with quality ingredients, and this one in particular contains a very high 70% cocoa solids - it's not often you get such high cocoa dark chocolate paired with caramel, especially salted caramel! The bars weigh 100g and are available from www.thegrownupchocolatecompany.co.uk . Since these are supposed to be for grown ups only it's recommended to keep them away from the kids! Opening the foil wrapper (always a good thing), the bar was in a nice chunky square block format. A little caramel was oozing through a crack in one of the squares, and it smelled lovely! The dark chocolate had a nice rich aroma.     I tried to cut a piece in half to get a shot o...

Crunchy Caramel M&M's Limited Edition UK

Image
Without warning, Mars UK have only gone and launched Limited Edition Crunchy Caramel M&M's upon the nation! Yes, these fantastic new treats are out now and available from Poundland in 109g bags. Naturally I had to pick a bag (or two!) up for sampling and reviewing purposes. They're described as "Milk Chocolate (51%) with a caramel center (21%) in a sugar shell". I tipped the bag out onto a fancy plate as soon as I got home...the M&M's looked somewhat like balls on a pool table. I believe caramel M&M's are an absolute first for the UK, although other countries have done the combination already. America are even lucky enough to get chewy caramel M&M 's! But this is the UK and we're lucky to get any new M&M flavour, so we mustn't grumble too much. How do they taste then I hear you ask?! Well, the caramel is a bit like toffee brittle or the innards of a Daim bar, with a buttery flavour that is delicious! I was seriously...

M&S Caramel & Popcorn and Gin & Tonic Sauces! (Spotted In Shops)

Image
Another quick Spotted In Shops today as a heads up: M&S are NOW DOING CARAMEL AND TOASTED POPCORN SAUCE! Described as "A sweet, buttery and indulgent sauce made with BRITISH condensed milk, cream and butter" - how great does it sound?! Price is £2. They're also doing a Lemon, Gin and Tonic sauce described as "A tart and tangy sauce full of classic, punchy flavour and made with 4% gin". Cheers to that! Price: £2. In other innovations they're also doing Rhubarb and Custard Curd, made specifically with BRITISH rhubarb juice. Hmm I'm sensing a patriotic theme here! They're also doing Rhubarb, Raspberry and Rose Conserve, made with ENGLISH rhubarb and SCOTTISH raspberries, with a hint of rose. I'm not sure I fancy rose in my jam, personally! Something a bit more traditional with a twist, it's Blackberry Bramble and Gin Conserve made with British blackberries and London dry gin. They're also doing 50% lower fat Skinny mousse...
