You can't beat coconut mushrooms. They're one of those classic Pick & Mix sweets that many of us know and love, and now Barratt have only gone and made a Fruity variety. Happy days! I was expecting these to taste of just regular coconut mushrooms when I saw them in Poundland recently, but to my surprise they actually turned out to have different individual fruit flavours. How pretty do they look? A lot nicer than regular coconut mushrooms that's for sure! There's classic fruit flavours like strawberry, lime, lemon, orange and er...blackcurrant? They contain no artificial colours or flavours, which is always a plus, but unfortunately aren't suitable for vegetarians as they contain gelatin. They're super tasty and moreish, with the coconut giving them that unmistakable tropical edge and the fruit flavours enhancing them even more. I was really intrigued to find these Refreshers Mallow Rolls in B&M recently. I used to love Refreshers sweets as a kid, but the idea of them as marshmallows sounded interesting if a bit odd! They come in orange and lemon flavours, and the mallows were very large and squidgy. They had a familiar Refreshers citrusy flavour which was quite odd - I'm not really sure it worked as a marshmallow flavour to be honest! They were also ridiculously sweet. Overall, these Refreshers Mallow Rolls are an interesting idea but they didn't really work in practice. Kids might like them, but there are far better sweets out there to choose from. I've only seen these in a handful of discount stores so far, so I'm not sure if they are being launched officially or not. Were you a fan of Refreshers sweets as a kid? I've had a lot of snacks reviews building up for a while now - things that get left by the wayside as newer, more interesting snacks get released. In light of Grocery Gem's fantastic Random Reviews posts I thought I'd do something similar, so here's introducing Kev's Pick & Mix: an assortment of mini snacks and drinks reviews! Barratt British Mix: I don't think these are available in shops anymore, I found them several months ago in Discount UK and they were a month out of date at the time.
