Nakd Cocoa Coconut Bars

Image
I do love Nakd bars, especially the various limited editions they've been doing in recent years from the likes of Carrot Cake to Lemon Drizzle , plus the Nakd Nibbles range. They always bring some interesting and tasty flavours to the healthy snacks market, stopping it from getting too boring and "health food-y". This year, not only have they launched the new limited edition Lemon Drizzle they've also brought a new flavour to their main range - Cocoa Coconut. I'm surprised they haven't done a coconut variety before to be honest...well, they did do some Nakd Nibbles Coconut in small bags (which are still available) but they're hard to find. Luckily Nakd saved me the bother of scouring multiple Asda stores for this new bar, and sent me some to review - thanks Nakd! The ingredients consist of dates, coconut, raisins, cashew nuts. It's nice to see coconut so prominently on the list. The bars are suitable for vegans, vegetarians, gluten free and da...

Nakd Posh Bits: Cocoa Sea Salt

Image
It was only a few days back that I reviewed Posh Bits Cocoa Raspberry and hoped to find the Sea Salt variety, well it seems Tesco answered my prayers straightaway because the next day I found these in their Free From Section. Hurrah! Tesco now stock these as well as Cocoa Raspberry and Cocoa Mandarin . They cost £2.75 and of course are raw, vegan, gluten free and dairy free. Here's the ingredients...it's quite a simple list, like all Nakd products. I'm not sure what I was expecting from these, really...I know what salted caramel tastes like so was half expecting something similar. Maybe it's a subconscious thing since salted caramel is becoming so ubiquitous as a flavour these days. There were little flecks of the sea salt just visible on the Bits. Like the other varieties they come in heart, diamond and dome shapes. And they tasted lovely! I was a bit wary initially they might taste weird with the added salt, but if anything it enhanced the sweet flavour ...

Nakd Posh Bits: Cocoa Raspberry Review

Image
Following on from my review of Nakd Posh Bits: Cocoa Mandarin flavour , today we have the Cocoa Raspberry version. I saw these in Sainsbury's Freefrom section, but strangely they didn't have the Cocoa Sea Salt variety...boo!  Like all Nakd products, these are of course raw, vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free and refined sugar free. I've added a pic of the ingredients list above so you can see what's in there...pretty standard Nakd stuff really. What isn't standard about these Posh Bits though are the shapes...they come in hearts, diamonds and domes. Which is certainly more interesting and fun than some "clean food" products...naming no names *cough* Deliciously Ella's Energy Balls! *cough*. These had a nice earthy, cocoa aroma with a hint of tangy raspberry. You can see the flecks of raspberry embedded within the Bits too. They tasted lovely; a pleasant cocoa flavour with the perfect texture from the nuts and dates - not too soft or...

Nakd Posh Bits Cocoa Mandarin Flavour

Image
Nakd (aka Natural Balance Foods) have launched a new range of "premium, grown up snacks" called Posh Bits. These replace the Nakd Bits range that have been out for a while now, to the disappointment of many fans I'm sure. Like all Nakd products, these are a mixture of raw fruit and nuts "smooshed together", and are raw, vegan, dairy free and gluten free. Here's the ingredients list: Also here's the Nutrition Information, for those who like details of calories and fat etc. If these are indeed meant to replace Nakd Cocoa Orange Bits , they certainly do a good job of it...they're very tasty! I liked the differing shapes of the bits, there's hearts: Diamonds: And, what I can only describe as "domes": The shapes certainly make the whole experience of eating these a lot more fun....but how do they taste? Well, they're addictively yummy! They have a lovely zesty aroma and flavour from the mandarin, with a good strong ...
