New Coca Cola Zero Peach (UK)

Image
When I bought the New Diet Coke Mango flavour the other day I didn't realize that there was also a Peach variety, in the Coca Cola Zero Sugar range and exclusively available from Tesco. When someone informed me via Instagram I had to go and look for some, and luckily found this bottle in the same Tesco Express as the Diet Coke Mango. This cost £1.25, quite a lot for a small bottle! Described as "Sparkling Low Calorie Peach Flavour Soft Drink with Vegetable Extracts with Sweeteners" these come in both 500ml small bottles and also larger bottles. Like all Coca Cola products this contains caffeine as well as the sweeteners aspartame and acesulfame k. I waited until I got home to try it, as with the Mango variety I had to drink it using my authentic Coca Cola glass! I took a sip...unlike the Mango variety the flavour here is a lot tamer, you get an initial peach taste that is very refreshing but it quickly gives way to the stronger cola flavour. It's very ...

New Diet Coke Exotic Mango (UK)

Image
It's not often that Coca Cola bring out a new flavour, so when they do it's always an occasion worth shouting about. The last one was when Vanilla Coke was brought back  (wayyyy back in 2013 - it feels like only yesterday!). More recently we had a Pepsi Max Ginger variety, which is about as exotic as the cola world gets these days. So it's quite exciting indeed that Coca Cola have gone for such a bold, fruity flavour to pair with Diet Coke - Mango! I was super surprised to find this in Tesco Express recently, I had heard rumours about it on Instagram but thought it would take a while to make it here up North. I immediately bought a bottle, not really caring about the price (turns out it was £1.10). I waited until I got home to try this just so I could drink it from my bona fide special Coca Cola glass: It's described as "sparkling low calorie mango flavour soft drink with vegetable extracts and sweeteners" and the ingredients are pretty much fizz...

Lucozade Zero Original Review

Image
Last year Lucozade brought out some new Zero Sugar varieties, which included Lucozade Zero Pink Lemonade and Lucozade Zero Orange , but oddly no Original variety. I don't know what took them so long, but at last it's here! Currently available from Morrisons and The Co Op in small and large bottles, and probably other supermarkets soon too. I bought a small bottle for £1.25 in Morrisons. I chilled it in the freezer, but left it in a bit too long so ended up with some Lucozade ice. Oops! Luckily, the ice didn't spoil it at all - in fact it was the perfect chilled temperature to drink. It tastes pretty much like regular Lucozade, which is quite impressive considering sugar free versions of drinks often taste full of chemicals in comparison. It's actually more refreshing and lighter than regular Lucozade, whilst retaining that lovely citrusy edge that makes Lucozade so distinctive. Impressive! It made for a very refreshing drink, and knowing that it's low cal...

Innocent Bubbles Tropical Fruit & Spring Water

Image
Whilst in need of refreshment at Sainsnburys recently, I spotted this new fizzy spring water and fruit juice drink from Innocent. Innocent are of course most well-known for their smoothies, which have fallen out of fashion with the public a bit recently, so it seems healthier versions of sparkling drinks is the new "in thing". This is a good thing really, since smoothies are a bit heavy on both the calories and fruit sugars, nutritious or not. What they've done here is mix fruit juices with carbonated spring water in a ratio that makes it flavoursome but not overly sugary. There were certainly a LOT of bubbles when I poured this into a glass, so they've got the name right. It was like the top of a pint of beer! Eventually they went down a bit and I could finally take a swig. This is a very refreshing drink indeed, not too sweet or sour, not overly fizzy or watery either (despite the bubbles), overall it's just about right and is very thirst quenching. The ...
