Marks & Spencer Milk Chocolate Salted Caramel Mini Whips

Image
A big thankyou to Marks & Spencer Food PR for sending me a fantastic box of new snacks to review recently, which included some upcoming Halloween treats plus some festive goodies! Since those "holidays" are quite some time away I thought I'd start by reviewing their delicious-sounding new Milk Chocolate Salted Caramel Mini Whips. I've reviewed an  M&S Salted Caramel Whip before so I was curious if these would be any different, or if they're the same thing in mini form. Described as "Milk chocolate filled with salted caramel flavour soft mallow (14%)", the bag contains 120g and I believe they'll cost £2 in stores. They're different to the one I've reviewed previously (which contained a layer of caramel) but that's not such a bad thing since the actual mallow in these tastes of salted caramel. Meaning - more salted caramel flavour! Opening the bag they certainly had a nice creamy chocolate aroma; definitely good qualit...

Nestle Delicious Caramel Whips

Image
Recently, Nestle launched a new range of Walnut-Free Whips, in Vanilla, Mint and Delicious Caramel varieties. The reasoning for this is that some people don't like the walnuts in the original Walnut Whips, and also to save on costs. I don't have strong feelings on this personally, since I never liked the walnuts on Walnut Whips anyway. I used to pick them off whenever I ate one and give it to my Grandad! So it's good news to me that Nestle have added some variety to the gooey mallows. I chose Delicious Caramel to review because who doesn't love caramel?! I found this three pack in Poundland with the other varieties, and they're available from other stores too. The Whips are individually wrapped and weigh 27.8g. They're described as "soft caramel flavour mallow in a milk chocolate shell". Cutting one open, the mallow had a slight yellowish caramel colour. Biting into it, I  could first taste the chocolate; it's super sweet and milky, st...

Marks & Spencer Chocolate Fudge Whips

Image
I tried the Marks & Spencer Salted Caramel Whips way back when, but this Chocolate Fudge variety somehow passed me by since there's been so many other new treats out. However, these were reduced to just £1 a box the other day in M&S so I couldn't resist giving them a try! There's three whips per box with a layer of soft mallow and chocolate fudge above it, coated in milk chocolate and dark chocolate, with a little white chocolate coated fudge piece on top. Like the Salted Caramel Whips, these have an unusual shape and are a bit different to a regular walnut whip. I do like the shape, it's quite fun but it does make the whip difficult to bite into. Taste wise, the mallow is nice and chewy but there was more of the fudge layer overpowering it. The chocolate fudge was nice, with a good fudgey texture and deep chocolatey flavour, and combined with the thick chocolate shell it gives you quite an intense chocolatey hit. The dark chocolate part of the she...
