Pepsi Max Raspberry new for the UK!

Image
Berries seem to be the in thing to add to Cola at the moment, what with the new Diet Coke Twisted Strawberry and Coca Cola Zero Raspberry I reviewed last month. Pepsi are getting in on it too with a new flavour - Pepsi Max Raspberry (in other cola news there's also going to be a Coca Cola Vanilla Orange launched in the US!).  It wasn't easy to get one of these. I first had to go through a few rounds of messaging Tesco's customer support to find out if there was any stock...then when I went to Tesco there was none on shelf...and eventually, after asking a member of staff who tried to fob me off and then went to look for me...I had one! After all that effort, I was hoping it'd be worth it!  The ingredients are pretty much the same as any Pepsi Max, an array of flavourings and sweeteners, but whatever. I popped the bottle in the fridge and waited for it to become nice and chilled.  Using my fancy Root 7 glass ( available here for anyone interested) I poured some ou...

Diet Coke Twisted Strawberry VS Coca Cola Zero Raspberry

Image
Today's review is a face-off between the new Diet Coke Twisted Strawberry and Coca Cola Zero Raspberry. Both are new for 2019 in the UK and presumably are replacing the Mango and Peach flavours from last year. The Twisted Strawberry seems to be exclusive to Tesco and is rather hard to find at the moment - it's been appearing in some Tesco Express stores so far but not larger ones. Raspberry seems to be an Asda exclusive currently. I'm not a huge fan of artificial sweeteners; I'd rather have full sugar coke, but still I had to try this for snacks research purposes. Ha! It costs £1.25 for a 1.25 L bottle and is described as "Sparkling low calorie strawberry flavour soft drink with vegetable extracts and sweeteners". I found this in a small Tesco Express store so if you're on the hunt, that's your best bet. Taking a swig, at first I was overwhelmed with a super strong strawberry flavour - wow this stuff is potent! Think strawberry laces or strawbe...

Retrocorn Cola Cube & Cherry Pips Popcorn

Image
A big thanks to Retrocorn for sending me a variety of new popcorn flavours from their range to review recently. Their popcorn is "popped in Great Britain with traditional British sweets", with classic retro flavours such as Sherbet Lemon, Cola Cubes etc added to it. The popcorn is gluten free and suitable for vegans, and contains 85 calories per half a bag. I do like the bag design - it's colourful and funky whilst also showing off its British credentials. Nice! I was sent a fair few flavours to try but today I'll focus on the Cherry Pips and Cola Cube varieties - both quite novel and different, and not flavours you'd usually see mixed with popcorn! The Cherry Pips flavour is of course combined with crushed Cherry sweets, making for an interesting sweet and sour combination. They have a purple colour and I like that they have been properly incorporated with the popcorn rather than just using a flavoured powder coating. The popcorn tastes great; it...

Coca Cola Cinnamon Zero Sugar Festive Limited Edition

Image
So it was only announced last week that we'd be getting a Cinnamon festive limited edition Coca Cola Zero Sugar in the UK, and already it's in shops...hurrah! Right? This is now available from both Tesco and Sainsburys, for £1.25 for a 1.25l bottle. If your locals aren't stocking it yet though do be patient - it's sure to turn up soon. Is it worth the excitement, is it as festive and christmassy as we are all hoping, I hear you ask...? I was certainly very hyped to try this when I first heard about it - I've always liked cinnamon and spice flavoured drinks in Autumn, and pairing the flavour with Coca Cola sounded like a potentially great idea. It could have been a nice mixer for alcoholic drinks. But sadly it was a bit of a letdown. It doesn't taste bad at all, it's a typically sweet, refreshing and pleasant Coca Cola drink that we are all familiar with, it's just that the cinnamon flavour is only barely there. At first I couldn't taste it, ...

New Coca Cola Zero Peach (UK)

Image
When I bought the New Diet Coke Mango flavour the other day I didn't realize that there was also a Peach variety, in the Coca Cola Zero Sugar range and exclusively available from Tesco. When someone informed me via Instagram I had to go and look for some, and luckily found this bottle in the same Tesco Express as the Diet Coke Mango. This cost £1.25, quite a lot for a small bottle! Described as "Sparkling Low Calorie Peach Flavour Soft Drink with Vegetable Extracts with Sweeteners" these come in both 500ml small bottles and also larger bottles. Like all Coca Cola products this contains caffeine as well as the sweeteners aspartame and acesulfame k. I waited until I got home to try it, as with the Mango variety I had to drink it using my authentic Coca Cola glass! I took a sip...unlike the Mango variety the flavour here is a lot tamer, you get an initial peach taste that is very refreshing but it quickly gives way to the stronger cola flavour. It's very ...
