Asda Raspberry Flavour Unicorn Spread

Image
As annoying as the Unicorn trend is becoming (let it rest, it’s had it’s day!) I did get quite excited when I found out Asda have a new raspberry flavour “Unicorn” spread out. Simply because it’s such a novelty, and contains popping candy! I had totally forgotten however that I reviewed a product like this back in 2015 which was Winsenia Raspberry Spread that was available in Aldi at the time. Costing £1.50, and simply described as “raspberry flavour Unicorn spread with popping candy pieces” this is indeed very similar to the spread I tried from Aldi back in 2015. It doesn’t contain white chocolate, and only the popping candy contains cocoa butter in the ingredients. It consists of a mixture of sugar, oil, milk powder, buttermilk powder etc.     It’s nice and gloopy with the popping candy pieces just visible in the pink mixture. Just the right texture to spread...which I did on rice cakes (I know, boring, but I like them ok!) The spread has a strong raspbe...

Unicorn Smarties Limited Edition UK

Image
I wasn't going to review these Unicorn Edition Smarties initially, after all they are just regular Smarties in pink and blue shells, plus they contain gluten. However the allure of fancy colours drew me in and it's always nice to have another limited edition candy wrapper for the collection! I have to say, as daft as this "Unicorn trend" is, the colours do look pretty. Perfect for topping cakes, cupcakes and maybe even cookies with! How do they taste? Well, I couldn't eat them but I gave them to a friend after taking these photos who commented "just like regular Smarties. Very sweet and good for a quick snack but not the best quality chocolate. A shame there's no orange flavours". So there you have it! Tastes just like regular Smarties (why couldn't they make them raspberry flavoured or something?) but without the orange ones that make regular Smarties so interesting. (Although you can now get Orange Smarties as a Limited Edition too, s...

If you're more about the glamour then there's these glittery  Glamour & Sparkle sprinkles: In gold and silver colours they do look very posh indeed! Nestle Smarties Unicorn Edition!

Image
Just a quick heads up today...Nestle are going to launch a "Unicorn Edition" of Smarties next week! Available at Asda for £1 in 112g pouches, these will contain the "magical" unicorn colours of blue and pink. How...innovative! Unfortunately these won't be white chocolate (now that would be magical indeed!) but milk chocolate Smarties. So whilst there is no difference in flavour, you can create #unicorn themed cakes and cookies with them. Very Instagrammable, very modern! It remains to be seen what will come next in Unicorn Themed Products...perhaps a Unicorn Kitkat? Unicorn Snickers? Let me know what you'd like to see in the comments!

Co Op Rainbow Unicones & Cherry Bakewell Ice Cream! (Spotted In Shops)

Image
Today's Spotted In Shops post is a bit late, but a heads up to anyone with a Co Op nearby...they are now selling Unicorn themed ice creams called... Rainbow Uni-Cones ! Yep, they've jumped on the magical unicorn highway and have created these Ice Creams complete with vanilla and raspberry ice cream, sprinkles and bizarrely, black waffle cones. Maybe to highlight the filling? Who knows! Going further to the Dark Side, they've also created these "Twice as Ice!" Double Chocolate Waffle Cones . I can't say they appeal to me, as much as like all things chocolatey. In fruitier ice creams, they're also doing these cool-looking Pineapple Lollies . Sounds tasty! They're also doing this lovely sounding Cherry Bakewell Ice Cream , complete with almond flavour ice cream, cherry sauce and digestive biscuit. Yum! Plus a Coconut & Belgian Chocolate Ice Cream , complete with butter enriched coconut biscuit and a truffle centre. As well as this ...

Not so much a Spotted In Shops today but a New In Shops...because I haven't yet spotted any of the products featured. I'm on the hunt for several of them however! First up - Mr Kipling Unicorn Slices! Unicorns are infiltrating everything these days, from cakes to chocolates to...shampoo (yes really!), so it's only fitting that Mr Kipling have gotten in on the trend. These multicoloured cake slices are apparently available from Tesco although I haven't seen them in mine yet. Baileys Dairy Free Almande Almond Drink: Made with almond milk, this new Baileys liquer is both dairy free and gluten free, hurrah! It's one I am on the search for and hopefully Asda will be stocking it soon. Suitable for vegans. Costa White Hot Chocolate: This white hot chocolate came out several years ago as part of one of Costa's Christmas ranges but it's bck again, this time for the Spring season! Available in stores now. Costa Easter Choco Crunch: Looking somewhat lik...
