Frijj Loaded Choc Orange Milkshake

Frijj loaded Choc orange milkshake

It's been a while since I tried a new Frijj variety, since I had the White Choc Raspberry Swirl last year in fact, so I was quite pleased to see this new Loaded "Choc Orange" flavour in Tesco recently. There's also a new Mango & Passionfruit flavour, but it didn't appeal to me since fruit and milk usually don't go well together!

This cost £1.30 (although it's now reduced to 60p on special offer) and like all Frijj milkshakes has a rather thick consistency. It's described as a low fat milkshake, with 70 calories per 100ml and is suitable for vegetarians. I poured some into a glass and got a nice waft of chocolatey orange aroma...it smelled lovely.

Sadly it didn't taste as good as it smelled. The chocolate orange flavour was rather weak, from both the chocolate and the orange flavours. This surprised me a bit, I can't see how you can get an artificial flavour like this wrong. It was pleasant enough, don't get me wrong, but I expect a lot better from Frijj. There was certainly nothing "Loaded" about it.

Overall, a nice idea in theory but this was disappointing in reality. If you're looking for chocolate orange in milkshake form...just make your own!

6.5 out of 10.

    1. They're becoming such a sloppy brand. The only good flavour I remember from them is white chocolate, from 10 years ago! xx

    2. They're cheap and nasty like everything else.. Oo positivity haha! I don't think I ever had that one but I did like the plain chocolate. Saying that I was always drawn more towards supermarket brand flavoured milk - You just couldn't beat it! xx
