Poundshop.com Service Review
A big thankyou to Poundshop.com for today's post, who sent me a box of goods of my choice from their online pound store so I could review their service. They're offering my followers a discount code for 5% off your first order which is KEVSSNACKS5, and it's valid until February.
They have a wide range of goods on there from household stuff, kitchen, bathroom, DIY, toiletries, and of course...FOOD! This was the main category I was of course interested in :D
The idea of an online pound shop is quite a dangerous one, it's so easy to be tempted to keep adding more items to your basket, whilst not having to go traipsing around an actual pound shop in person. Because let's face it, as good as the bargains can be sometimes, they're hectic places to shop in and are almost always crowded with buggies (this is my pet peeve!) So it's worth paying a little for the postage to save all that hassle in my opinion. It's £4.95 standard (minimum spend £20) and £6.95 next day delivery. Pretty reasonable for a large box of items, which arrived promptly and neatly packed with bubble wrap and plastic pillows to prevent any damage.
I chose a variety of interesting foods, such as Ritter Sport, including the Winter variety that was hard to find in shops, plus Orange Cremes, Werthers Originals, and a few multipacks of Seabrooks Crisps (aka one of the best crisp brands IMO).
I also got 4 boxes of Gullon Gluten Free Cookies because these are so hard to find in shops! Some discount stores used to stock them but they disappeared. They're the tastiest gluten free cookies around in my opinion, and dairy free and vegan too.
I also got some "I'm a celebrity" chocolates with mealworms in that were reduced to 50p....why? I honestly don't know! The novelty factor? I don't really plan on eating them, maybe I'll give them as a gift to some unsuspecting person.
Also in the haul was curry sauce mix, crackers, fizzy orange pop, melody pops lollies (I loved those as a kid!),
and also some sponges and a new pair of fingerless gloves! Which come in very handy when you're snack spotting :D
I'm still making my way through all the treats and I have to say it's great having so much variety for such a small price, it certainly keeps you going. It's also nice to have plenty of extra household bits and pieces on hand for when you run out. I use up so many sponges with cleaning and get sick of heading to Poundland to restock!
All in all what can I say, this is a great service, it's convenient, cheap and makes life a bit easier. The snacks are all great value and there's a variety of ones you wouldn't usually see in most shops. The household stuff is nice to have for when you run out.
