Pudology Chocolate Orange Pud (Gluten & Dairy Free)

Whilst in Holland & Barrett recently I spotted some reduced items. I'm always a sucker for reduced price food...I can't help it when I see a bargain! One of them was this Pudology dessert, made with coconut milk, dark chocolate, and containing zero dairy or gluten.


It's basically a mini chocolate orange mousse style dessert, although more intense and creamy thanks to the addition of coconut milk. In fact they call it a "ganache", which is something more often found as a cake filling.

Whatever it's supposed to be called, it tasted delicious! Very filling, rich and chocolatey as well as being creamy. The orange oil added a lovely zestiness, reminding me of Terry's Chocolate Orange, but richer and tastier. It didn't become sickly sweet and I found that one small pot was very satisfying.

Overall, if you're looking for a tasty gluten and dairy free dessert you can't go wrong with Pudology. I would highly recommend this and hope to try more from their range in the future!

Cadbury Dream Ice Creams - back for Summer! (UK)

If you've sorely missed Cadbury Dream White Chocolate since it was withdrawn from UK shelves many years ago, fear not, it's going to be back for Summer, albeit in a colder form - yes, ice cream! Dream Ice Creams have been in shops sporadically for several years now (including a Strawberry variety that was exclusive to Farmfoods) but finally they're getting an official release just for the Summer, yay! It will be sold in major supermarkets in packs of three, and impulse sticks will cost £1.80 from convenience stores. Maybe Cadbury are testing the waters to see how popular they are...who knows, maybe the proper Cadbury Dream bar may be resurrected if sales are good! You can already find Cadbury Dream ice creams in Fultons Foods , a Northern based frozen food store if you're lucky enough to live near one (there's a store finder in the link above). Asda Tinned Banana Blossom Review

Recently, I spotted a totally new vegetable/fruit (not sure which it actually is!) in Asda called Banana Blossom in a tin. It was next to the tins of Jackfruit which is a well known vegan meat alternative. I assumed it was a similar thing so happily bought some to try - it’s £1.50 a tin. The image on the wrapper looked innocent enough - battered fish pieces, only vegan! Surely this stuff must be good? Turns out that packaging was very misleading because nothing could prepare me for the horror that was lurking inside...when I opened the tin it was like opening something from a horror film, discovering the mouldy body of an ancient alien creature or other such evil. It looked hideous!! “Surely this is not meant for human consumption?!”, I thought. Heck it’s not even suitable for bird consumption....I think flies would even turn their nose up at this thing, which looked like rotten infested seaweed.
